Hands up if you love a photo booth. Yeah, me too. I can’t pass one by without quickly hopping in, it’s a compulsion! My favourite kind of booths are those genuinely old ones though. The ones where you don’t get a preview before the strips are printed out (the anticipation!) and the prints come out on lovely thick paper, in proper black and white ink.

Unfortunately these booths are unreliable and expensive to run, which is why they’re few and far between. But when I heard about Foto Noir, I paid attention. Although their booth is a free standing digital contraption, the quality of their images reflects that of those rare classic booths. They’re bringing the retro photo booth bang up to date.

“Foto Noir is a London based booth company providing an elegant wooden photo booth for weddings and other special events”, writes Mark Angus, the man behind the booth. “This alternative take on the traditional photo booth is unobtrusive and open. It is designed to take flattering black and white pictures of you and your guests. Prints are provided on the day and we even include a framed photo display board.”

If this kind of thing floats your boat, then you’re going to love the collaboration they’ve just started up with Prangsta Costumiers. They specialise in collecting, restoring and customising vintage treasures. Are you seeking to release your inner forgotten showgirl? Feel the need to dress up as a burlesque troubadour? Wondering what should you wear to a boho courtesan or belle époque themed hen night? They’ve got you covered!

The combination of these two companies has got to be THE perfect hen do idea don’t you think? Hosted at their New Cross studio, Prangsta provide the vintage clobber and Foto Noir, the booth. Think flapper girls, listening to jazz, sipping cocktails and champagne, and getting their pose on. Now that sounds like my idea of a damn good night out!

Prices start from £100 per person for the hen do package, and £720 for wedding photo booth hire. For more information on either service, Foto Noir can be contacted by email on mark@fotonoir.co.uk.
