I saw this wedding and I instantly fell in love – with the location, with dress and with Cindy & Sebastian themselves. Prepare to be transported into wedding inspo heaven…
The Indonesian wedding was held at St Laurentius church with the reception that followed at
Maxi’s Cafe in Bandung. The couple were inspired by 18th century french opulence and Marie Antoniette for their theme. They transformed their reception venue into the Gardens of Versailles. “Marie Antoinette has been an inspiration to me since I was very young”, explained Cindy.
“I remember buying a lot of things related to Marie Antoinette, like grayish blue color apparels, pictures and even cakes that reminded me of her. That is why I chose to take my cue from her on my wedding theme. I searched and decided on things mostly on my own – decorations, flowers, my wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses, the wedding cake, accessories and ambiance music. I loved how our wedding was filled with details that go back to her era.”
Cindy wore a dress made by
Albert Yanuar Bridal with Christian Louboutin shoes. “Our wedding was my fairy tale wedding”, she concluded, “and showcased my obsession with Marie Antoinette.”
Utterly breathtaking! And can we all just stop a minute to appreciate that dress shot? Like oh-em-gee you guys… Thank you to Cindy & Sebastian and the amazing team at
Axioo for sharing this wedding with us today.

They wanted their wedding to feel like a dark and regal version of Marie Antoinette meets Alice in Wonderland so when Sabrina and Andres began planning their January 2020 wedding, they knew the details of the day would really matter. The bride in particular painstaking planned every element of the day, even going so far as considering the texture of certain elements and having a signature scent.

Barbie & Ken Finally Get Married
August 12, 2011
When this photo shoot landed in my inbox this week with the description "Barbie & Ken's wedding" I thought oh christ...what's this?! However I've got to say that as soon as I saw the photographs my initial sceptism and preconceptions were totally irradicated. I laughed as I looked at each photo, set up to show Barbie & Ken getting married and photographed in the way an actual wedding might be. The quality of the photos are totally brilliant - and there lies the hilarity.
Margaret & Edi’s INCREDIBLE “Blows-Everything-Else-Out-of-the-Water” Gothic Alice in Wonderland Wedding
March 3, 2011
Seriously people! get a load of this sheeeeeit. OK OK let me get myself together for a second....
Margaret sent me a sneak peek to her incredible wedding to Edi back in October and I had to wait until this week to see the rest of them. Do you know how hard that has been for me?! I actually teased the above photo on Twitter the other day and someone replied asking if it was a photograph of heaven...that's a pretty accurate assumption I think!
The couple were legally married at Edi's parent's house and the reception took place in the fairytale setting of The Bali Room in the Kempinski Hotel, Jakarta and Margaret told me all about it.
"Our theme was Alice in Wonderland. I picked Alice for my theme, because I've loved it since I was a little kid and because my Mom's name is Alice. The main colour was dark purple because purple represents magical and darkness in the same time. its so glamorous! Our family members wore purple shade outfits."
A Sophisticated & Sexy Wedding in The Philippines: Francis & Mayone

It's unusual for me to blog engagement sessions, but when I saw Francis & Mayone's (potentially NSFW!) I really could not resist. After sharing that, I hoped that their wedding might be as awesome (and that they'd send it to me too) and oh boy did they deliver! Glamorous and elegant, personal but spectacular, sexy but sophisticated, these guys sure know how the pull off a wedding in style!
Opulent Vivienne Westwood Inspired Wedding: Sashy & Dashy
November 25, 2013
When wedding photographer Anna Hardy told me that she just shot a wedding where the bride wore the Vivienne Westwood wedding dress from the first Sex and the City movie, I was excited, damn excited. As someone who not only owns the entire box set of SATC but pretty much watched in a week straight when I got it, I couldn't wait to see how a real bride looked in this iconic gown. And the answer? FIERCE.
1920s Art Deco & Burlesque Fusion Wedding: Angie & Brian
April 12, 2013
With a penchant for all things glamorous and retro, it was no wonder that Angie & Brian had the wedding that they did. The bride, a burlesque dancer, and the groom, a jazz trumpet player for Lady Gaga, wanted a day that truly reflected the things that they love. They didn't just want to plan a wedding - they wanted to put on a show! The wedding was held at Grand Prospect Hall, Brooklyn.
A Marie Antoinette Style Gothic Fairytale: Stan & Lotti
September 21, 2012
that tap into this theme. But I think Lotti is the best example of a Marie Antoinette bride since... well... me! In fact I think she actually steals my crown. The pantaloons, the white/grey hair, the shoes... her look is just perfect!
"I’m an alternative model in my spare time and I've always been creative in my appearance so I was never going to go for something conventional for my wedding!" began the bride. "I’m very into period costume and I love the spectacular dress of the court of Versailles at the time of Marie Antoinette so I thought I would recreate some of the decadence and indulgence of the court for our big day! We chose the blue and white theme as this shade of blue was one of Marie Antoinette’s favourites. The toile de jouy fabric of the bridemaids dresses was also popular in Europe at the time. Kiku Boutique in Manchester dressed us all."
