Hey there! Have you forgiven me for the lack of Thursday Treats last week? … Oh you forgot all about it already? Good good! But just in case, whatdayafink of that photo up there? Yep, that’s what I was doing while I was away… helping to style that baby up. Beautiful huh? More of this will be hitting the bloggidy soon!

Today I’m off to The Big Smoke to be interviewed on camera (eeek) and to meet the amazing Nanette Lepore at her Notting Hill store. I’m equally nervous and excited about both events, and I have a funny feeling I may be heading home with a rather light wallet and some rather heavy shopping bags (sorry Gareth).

In other news… OMFG I can’t believe it’s just two weeks until I fly to New York for The Blogcademy. Where on earth has the time gone?!? Holy moly I better dash, I’ve still got my presentations to plan!

♥ The next Paper Girls ‘How to be Fabulous in Business’ workshop for wedding stationers, greetings & print designers is taking place on 11th October at the Craft Central, St John’s Square in London. ♥ I love Monday’s – do you?
♥ If you abuse your mop like I do then check out Bleach’s tips for over-processed hair
♥ There’s no such thing as a free lunch – sponsorship of photo shoots. Do you agree? I am a firm believer that styled shoots are a great way for suppliers in the wedding industry to practice their craft, showcase their talents and new ideas & maybe even get some free press. However I similarly agree with Helen here that the benefits of the time, effort and money that you put into these collaborations needs to benefit everybody equally. ♥ Some of the biggest hits of 1999 are in this video… FYI that was 13 years ago. Yeah…I know. Feel old yet?

Interesting article about the bride wearing her mum’s/grandma’s dress- I’ll be wearing my mum’s dress when I get married in August. It’s a bargain at the cost of a dry clean, really nice to have that continuity, and amazing how it fits perfectly, too. My mum had it tailor made in Eastern Germany in the 70s. And no, it doesn’t look like Kate’s 😉
There is something nice about having your own dress as well, so for the evening I’ve bought a 1930s dress (a flea market find). I have to say, having read a number of your recent articles I am mighty glad I never even set foot in a bridal boutique.
Anyone else wearing their mum’s dress? (or their nan’s?)

  2. i really love the bride in her mum and grandmas dress… i wish i could be as tiny as my mum AND grandma on my wedding day so i could wear either of their dresses, but i was blessed with curves hahaha!

i also loved seeing the owl and the pussycat themed ideas… so cute!
