Ryan & Cha Cha’s engagement session blows everything else out of the water. An eclectic, colourful, hilarious, circus, wonderland styled shoot looks like absolute crazy fun.
A sugarcane plantation in Northern Cebu was the perfect backdrop for our quirky theme of vagabond lovers. Hats, clown figurines, a colored umbrella, truck load of clothes, bicycles, and a purple teddy bear. Pure craziness in the middle of nowhere!
A massive thanks to Jeff, Jon, and Gilby of Rock Paper Scissors Photography for sharing this awesome session with us

"Angelo and I were super lucky to have design/photography duo Everywhere We Shoot on board to do our prenup photography," bride-to-be Rin writes. "These guys are friends who frequent the same gigs, art spaces, and thrift shops that we go to. Their philosophy has always been to keep doing and creating, not for money, but just because they love what they do. And knowing that we were on a budget-DIY-wedding, they agreed to do a pro bono engagement shoot for us in a heartbeat. I was also blessed to have a former schoolmate slash band groupie of mine, Kitty Caragay, do my make-up."

Honestly? I'm not going to pretend that I really understand this shoot... but for some reason I just really love it. It must be the weird juxtaposition between designer handbags, shoes on a roof, giant bunnies and bondage... and hell, I'm not adverse to a bit of randomness!

I have a little two part-er for you right now. Omar & Junela gothic engagement and Rock n Roll wedding were both so awesome I had to share them together - first up the ridiculously inspiring engagements. The editing is big, brash and in your face, but I think it really works with the gothic theme of this session. I am in actual LOVE!
Thanks to Jomel for sharing. Your work is amazing and so different. Love love love

Teen Vogue Inspired Engagement Shoot

This sweet and cute engagement session is something a bit different to what I often post. However I thought Krystle & Derek's Teen Vogue inspired shoot was the perfect way to show that you don't have to be all about tattoos, props and vintage picnics to be considered Rock n Roll! The couple, from Manila in the Philippines, styled their shoot themselves to have a 'mix n match' simple fashion-shoot theme. " We simply wanted our photos to look fun, flirty, fresh and alive with simple props" they told me.

Mimes at the Circus: Neill & Niamh
Kat
November 9, 2012
This is a little bit freaky... so if you're scared of clowns, mimes or circus freaks I suggest you look away now!
For their engagement shoot, fancy dress loving Neill & Niamh decided they wanted to dress as mimes. This quirky pair didn't want a traditional or boring engagement session - they wanted to add some personality! So they gathered some inspiration from the internet and went shopping for their outfits. All the props were all their own and as fate would have it, the circus came to town just down the road from where they live, so they asked the owner if they could shoot there.

A Mixed Media Engagement Shoot: Francis & Mayone

If you want to see photography that pushes boundaries then look no further than MangoRED. This Filipino duo have been pushing my buttons ever since I first discovered them waaaaay back at the beginning of 2009. Their work continues to inspire me to this day. Why? Because they're continually pushing themselves to create. Their work has evolved - almost into a completely different beast - but the essence of unadulterated and unapologetic creativity has remained a constant.
