I’d like to take this opportunity to say how bloomin’ chuffed I am with all my regular readers for coming back time and time again to read my random ramblings, but also to welcome a brand spanking new spate of British Brides to be! I am off to the National Wedding Show at Olympia in London-town tomorrow and Sunday to spread the Rock n Roll Bride word so I’m hoping there will be some new names cropping up in the comments soon, please don’t be shy, I’m not scary…honest.

In some ways I'm a terrible wedding blogger. I am 'real wedding' obsessed and I love to see the ins & outs of people's actual weddings or read about their experiences, but in terms of what's going on in the 'industry' I usually couldn't give a toss. It's also extremely rare that I ever get excited by anything to do with bridal fashion and I try to avoid fashion shows at all costs...sorry but they're usually such a yawnfest. However when it matters, when someone actually does something new or exciting I do then get really passionate, chomping at the bit to feature it as soon as possible - often with a lot of extra exclamation points!

It's no secret that I am a Fur Coat No Knickers super fan. Laura and Emma are the purveyors of the friendliest bridal boutique in the country. No joke, these babes are some of the nicest human beings you will ever meet.
For years now they've been the go-to store for vintage wedding dresses, and in 2013 they expanded their range to include made to measure designs. All lovingly handmade in Britain, they wanted to be able to help every bride, whatever her shape or size. They love their vintage gowns, but with vintage sizing being stingy at the best of times, it was really hard for them to cater to anyone over a size 12.

One of my favourite things to do is speaking at events. As someone who used to suffer from crippling stage fright (and would avoid public speaking at all costs at school) this has been nothing but a surprise to me, let me tell you! But once you get over the anxiety, it really is super fun!
Which is why I was thrilled when the babes at Flourish and Prosper asked me to be involved their workshop, The Wedding Academy. This is the first business workshop specifically aimed at people in the wedding industry, and I for one can't wait to attend!

Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans. I don't think I truly understood the poignancy of this quote until we started our home renovations. EVERYTHING takes longer than you expect. EVERYTHING costs more, EVERYTHING is more complicated than you think it'll be and every time you feel like you're making significant progress life throws a curve ball or another challenge at you and oh look, the bathroom is still not finished!
