When photographer Marianne Taylor sends you a wedding, it’s pretty much a given that it’s going to be awesome. Not only does Marianne have a fantastic eye for detail and gets the coolest clients, but she always knows which weddings will suit the style of my blog. While Emily & Owen’s wedding may seem more traditional than some of the weddings I feature, the thought and personalisation is what makes it totally Rock n Roll!
The couple were wed at Marylebone Town Hall, London which was followed by a cool reception at 6 Fitzroy Square. The couple chose this space as they had previously been to a party there and loved it’s vibe. Emily wore a gorgeous 1950′s short dress which she found on Ebay. She had a friend alter the dress slightly to make it perfect for her – by shortening it and moving the bow to a diagonal. Her engagement ring was also a 1950′s antique which was from Greys Antiques Market, Bond Street, London. Her shoes were from Topshop and her pearls were also vintage, which she also found on Etsy.
The couple saved money where they could. The cake was from Waitrose to which their caterers decorated with flowers to fit their theme. The couple also collected mis-matched vases from charity shops, markets and car boot sales to give each centrepiece and individual look.
Owen designed and created all the stationary and paper goods, including the save the date postcards (printed on vintage floral postcards), the invites, the place name settings, the menus and the table plan.
“We didn’t want a ‘wedding by numbers’, the usual run of the mill type wedding,” the couple told me. “We wanted to create a really relaxed day, we wanted it to be chilled for everyone involved. We especially didn’t want the best men/best women to be running around all day and not be able to enjoy it.”
Thanks to photographer Marianne and Emily & Owen for sharing this gorgeous day

Beautiful.
We love the look of your wedding so much so that we have the venue on hold for ours. I’d love to hear whether you recommend them and the caterers, whether you used the venue’s tables and chairs etc, or whether you hired your own through the caterer or elsewhere. Also, although we’re going for a proper look around next week, I wondered if you could let me know how the venue looked at night as there are sadly no photos of this.
Any information you could share with us would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Sophie,
Rob at Fitzroy Square was great and we wholeheartedly recommend Palette (http://www.palette-events.com/) for the catering, they were wonderful and Matthew read many, many emails from me with lots of instructions!! We also hired all the furniture off them, you can choose what you like and they have great taste. It seems expensive but the venue hire is a lot cheaper than standard (and boring) hotels so it works out.
The venue was just as beautiful at night, no candles allowed but we just had up lighters dotted around and they did the job.
If you want to email me any more questions, please do so at emily_skinner24@hotmail.com.
Also, give our regards to Rob/Mathhew if/when you see them.

Hello and welcome to my little blog. My name is Kat Williams aka the Rock n Roll Bride and my aim is to provide a little haven of kick ass weddingness in a cookie cutter, pastel and often puke-worthy wedding world. If you’ve ever picked up a bridal magazine and felt queasy or trawled the internet and felt disheartened by what you didn’t find well, my friend, you are in the right place!
