New Zealand Waterfall Elopement

Inspired by their love of hiking and nature, Adam and Alice flew from the States to New Zealand to get their dream waterfall location for their September 2019 elopement.

They married at Milford Sounds in New Zealand, and spent the day searching for their perfect spot. “We had the best photographer! Kate set up our day perfectly, which had to be hard since she was all the way across the world,” said Alice.

Their biggest expense of their $7000 budget was, understandably, their flights. They kept things simple, with Alice wearing a dress from Allure Bridals paired with Converse and a flower crown. As a hairdresser, she was able to do her hair and makeup herself. Adam’s suit was from Express. The only DIY project they undertook was painting the back of Alice’s white leather jacket with their initials.

They started their day with a magical boat ride around the sounds, searching for the perfect location. They settled on Bowen Falls, taking their vows privately underneath it. “It was the most magical day. Everything worked out perfectly and was exactly as we dreamed it. We’d recommend eloping to any couple!”
