A Marie Antoinette Style Gothic Fairytale: Stan & Lotti

September 21, 2012

Ever since I dressed up as Marie Antoinette in Paris I’ve been quite partial to weddings that tap into this theme. But I think Lotti is the best example of a Marie Antoinette bride since… well… me! In fact I think she actually steals my crown. The pantaloons, the white/grey hair, the stripey socks… her look is just perfect!

“I’m an alternative model in my spare time and I’ve always been creative in my appearance so I was never going to go for something conventional for my wedding!” began the bride. “I’m very into period costume and I love the spectacular dress of the court of Versailles at the time of Marie Antoinette so I thought I would recreate some of the decadence and indulgence of the court for our big day! We chose the blue and white theme as this shade of blue was one of Marie Antoinette’s favourites. The toile de jouy fabric of the bridemaids dresses was also popular in Europe at the time. Kiku Boutique in Manchester dressed us all.”

“Stan & I added some Rock n Roll to our wedding with our favourite singer/songwriter who performed. We both share a passion for Jonah Matranga’s music which has been a thread running through both our lives. It was so special to have him play us down the aisle, and we’ll never forget the night-time gazebo set with all our friends standing round. During his earlier set I got so excited I actually joined him in singing, but probably the less said about that the better!”

“We loved our pictures from Rebecca L Weddings“, Lotti concluded. “I did one of my first ever photo shoots as a model with Rebecca many years ago. Her photos really captured the magic of the occasion and we loved the quirky sense of humor in her work. I would highly recommend her to anyone in search of a wedding photographer! We had other people that I’ve worked with also help us out. I have often modeled for Lynn at Kiku Boutique who made my gorgeous custom wedding outfit and I have modeled hairpieces previously for the lovely Sophie Adamson who made my feather headpiece. My hair & make up artist, Michaelene Banana, I have also worked with many times on shoots. Also I need to give a big thanks to our friend Andy who designer and help co-ordinate printing for all our wedding stationery as our wedding present. It was really special to be able to have high quality designed stationery with everything tied in with our theme.”

Fabulous indeed. Thank you to Stan & Lotti for sharing their amazing wedding with us today!
