An Extra Special, Stylish & Quirky British Wedding

The UK is seriously on fire this week and I’ve got another fantastic British wedding so share with you. However this one is extra extra special as Sally & Peter actually found their photographer, Kate, through Rock n Roll Bride! Woo to the Hoo!

Kate talked all about Sally & Peter and their wonderfully eclectic day on her own blog:

Sally and Peter have been together for about 18 months and about 6 months ago, during a game of scrabble, Peter proposed! While Sally was out of the room Peter stole several of the letters and when the time was right spelt out the words ‘marry me’. This explains Sally’s choice of earrings on the wedding day – The S&P are from the actual set they played.

Adventure Playground Of Fun

Carrie & Brian got hitched on the snow-capped Mt. Hood at The Timberline Lodge. Carrie’s amazing dress, cashmere-and-organza ruffle bolero and hair piece with chenille dot netting, feathers and flowers were all designed by Elizabeth Dye (who I have featured a few times before) an independent clothing designer in Portland, Oregon.

Their wedding was a total adventure playground of fun. To get to the venue all guests had to snow cat up steep snow slopes of Mt. Hood in a near white out snow fall. Photographers Shawn & Bonnie went on to tell me more:

Beyond that the night was full of quirk and personal style, from their unique toasts that involved in-unison speaking to their wedding vows that were a written haiku read line by line by each person in attendance.

Thanks for sharing guys!

Polka Dot Bride

When Leslie & Steve got married they decided to all kick it with their Converse trainers (that’s Chucks to you guys in the States), even the Bride got in on the action, rocking her green trainers under her beyond awesome polka dot dress (I am still waiting to find out where she got it from, don’t worry I will let you know when I do!) The theme was glorious green which really brightened up an otherwise cold winter wedding.

Edit: Leslie’s dress is by Galina

Tinywater Go Snowy

Tinywater are quite frankly awesome.  Their work always make me smile, so when Caroline send me their newest engagement shoots I jumped at the chance to be the blog to post them.
First up a super fun, super snowy shoot!

Vintage Snow

More snowy posts!  Who would have thought there would be so many stunning winter weddings?

For all the details check out the photographer’s post on the day..but a few of my favourite details include:

  • The dress was inspired by Dior’s New Look circa 1947, the Bride’s favourite fashion period (and designed by the Bride)
  • Through knitted elements and shabby-chic bric-a-brac [they] created a warm, intimate atmosphere
  • The favours for the guests doubled as seating cards. Eclectic vintage teacups held the Father of the Bride’s own blend of tea in teabags adorned with handmade commemorative tags.
