Brighter days ARE coming and my God, are we ready for them! However you feel about the recent government announcements regarding weddings, it’s safe to say that things are finally moving in the right direction. The last year has been absolutely insane but with the vaccine roll out on track and the weather starting to get better, it finally feels like the end is in sight.
Another England-wide lockdown over the last two months meant that our usual fashion editorial had to be put on hold for this issue. Luckily for us, some friends of Rock n Roll Bride came through and sent us this incredible shoot. Shot in the Judaean Desert near Jerusalem, photographer Alon Gruber and stylist Karin Zimerman used pieces from Lee Kodo’s latest collection to create this dreamy yet rugged desert editorial. This shot was just PERFECT for the vibe I wanted to go for with this cover too, what a blessing! Guy Simon Tov also made this stunning video:
Whether you’re newly engaged or this is the second (or even third) version of your wedding that you’re planning, our brand-new issue is now coming at ya with all the information and inspiration you could possibly want. If you would like to order this single issue you can do so here, or subscribe by filling out the form at the top or bottom of this post. UK postage is free, and we ship worldwide! All orders are processed securely through PayPal (and if you don’t have a PayPal account you can just use the PayPal system to pay via credit or debit card).
So, what has this beauty of a new issue got in store then? Well… A little bit of this:
Just a quickie to let say thank you to everyone that came to my first School of Rock (n Roll Bride)* yesterday. I had a great time talking to possibly the nicest bunch of girls (and one token guy – there’s always one poor bloke at these things!) that I could have asked for for my first workshop. I’m now more excited than nervous for the next one! I’ll have a few more photos to share with you soon, but here’s one Shell took on her phone yesterday.
*Further dates will be announced soon
Boom! And thanks to the British press for all the love this month…
This month I contradicted myself a bit by profiling someone who doesn’t have her own blog but makes her business work without one. I wanted to show how Assassynation makes social media, in particular Facebook, work for her and her business.
In shops now.
My regular feature in this month’s Wedding Magazine was all about some of my favourite bridesmaid looks.
Ooh it’s that time for me to show off let you know where else you may have spied my mug this month. As always BIG love to the British (and international – I made it to Australia this month baby!) press. I love you much.
Oh hello September press lovelies. My, you have been good to me again…
Although I don’t feature a whole load of engagement shoots on Rock n Roll Bride, I am a firm believer in how important they are for couple’s to do. I approached this subject in this month’s edition of Photo Professional, using two of my favourite engagement shoot advocates, Ed Peers and Thaoski, as examples.

Nom nom nom! My article in the current issue of Wedding Magazine is all about cakes. How can you resist?

I was so excited to be asked to be interviewed for Snippets Magazine in their wedding special edition. Not only is it a magazine I’ve read (online) a lot, but they’ve featured some of my internet idols in the same feature previously. But then I found out they were putting me on the damn cover and I just about died!
They even made a little caricature of me which graces their website walls while I’m on the cover too. Haha!
Thank you to all the readers of the blog who heard this and told me about it! I was surprised and honoured to learn that Emma Jones, author of Working 5-9, a book I was profiled in last year, and the mastermind behind the small business website enterprisenation.com, was interviewed on BBC Radio Scotland’s ‘Fred MacAuley Show’. Unfortunately the clip has now being taken off the BBC iPlayer, but I listened to it last week and wrote down what they said about me for you.
So I found out last week that Marie Claire Australia are going to re-run my article that appeared in the July issue of the UK version of the mag. Wooo…Australia is like, BIG. I’m over the moon and so so thrilled that my Aussie readers will get the chance to see me in print. So thank you (again) to Marie Claire Magazine. I am beyond flattered that you’ve found me interesting enough to publish twice!
I’ll be sure to let you all know when the Australian edition is in the shops.
So where else might you have spied my ugly mug this past month then?
For this month’s Photo Professional article I wrote some of my top tips to getting your work featured on wedding blogs and in magazines. A simple and to the point topic, but one that I hope a lot of photographers (and other wedding suppliers actually) will find useful. Wedding blogs get a lot of submissions so I think it’s really important to know how to make yours stand out from the crowd.
Where do I even begin with all the press love I’ve received this month? I’m blown away as ever. World domination here I come…
Marie Claire Magazine (UK)
When Marie Claire Magazine contacted me asking if I would like to be profiled in a feature about ‘Super-Bloggers’ I just about fell of my chair. Erm moi? in MARIE CLAIRE!? I might have squealed a little bit…well a lot.
I was interviewed by a journalist where she asked me all about the business, what I do, how I earn my moolah…and all that jazz. I’m thrilled with how the article turned out and I’ve had so much amazing feedback since – including a call from the BBC (see below) and Marie Claire Greece! Watch this space people, watch this space…

BBC Radio Berkshire
On Thursday I was invited to BBC Radio Berkshire to be interviewed on the Anne Diamond Show. Anne was actually off for the week but we met the very lovely David Prever, who made me feel incrediblly welcome and slightly less nervous than when I first walked in! Gareth came to hold my hand and even he got on air too!
You can listen to the whole interview on the BBC iPlayer, but for my readers not in the UK you can all listen to it thought this little video that Gareth made. Aren’t we good to you?
…and ps yes I giggled a LOT! What was that about!?
Photo Professional Magazine
This month I addressed a question I get asked over and over by photographers, wedding suppliers and other bloggers – how to create a great website. I wanted to share some of my tips on how to make your website stand out from the crowd as well as highlight some pitfalls to avoid (like the plague!)
…but I didn’t expect this one! My friend Marianne Taylor was intervierwed by Photo Professonal on the ‘Beloved’ Movement – a style of shooting couples to envoke real emotions and photograph them in a really unique way. Gareth & I did a Beloved shoot with Marianne for our anniversary and so it was a huge surprise when flipping though the magazine to see our photo on a double page spread! Thanks Marianne and Photo Professional!
