Vampire Royalty Wedding

Daley and Logan met at a goth club in Austin seven years ago. They began hosting events together, including the Austin Vampire Ball, which is actually where they got engaged! Their wedding theme was suitably ‘vampire royalty’ and and they wanted their wedding to be one-of-a-kind, but with some nods to tradition.

“Since we are the nominated king and queen of the Vampire Court of Austin, we wanted a wedding that would reflect that,” began Daley. “We also took some design inspiration from Phantom of the Opera and Beauty and The Beast, but essentially we were our own inspiration for our wedding. We wanted people to walk in and immediately say ‘This is definitely Logan and Daley’.”

“We wanted a very unique wedding with some surprisingly traditional aspects. Logan wore custom armour (crafted after the armour from Dracula Untold), with his fangs and green contacts. We also had a dragon cake with a replica of Dracula’s Castle, a crowning ceremony, and more red lighting and flowers than you could shake a stick at!”

Mary and Caio lived next door to each other for twelve years before they had their first date! For their wedding they brought together everything they love; art, music, friends, family, décor and vintage. They had an art gallery of Mary’s paintings, an old Volkswagen in the fields, five bands (which had the groom playing in all of them!), friends leading their ceremony, craft beer, décor items from their house… and they partied for nine hours straight!

“I’m a painter, just like my father and my grandfather,” began Mary, “so in the long corridor at the main entrance of our wedding venue, we hung up more than 40 paintings and turned it into an art gallery. We wanted the first impression people had of our wedding to be related to art and for them to get to know more about my family heritage. We also had 14 paintings inside the main dancing hall.”

Intimate and Laid Back Family Gathering Style London Wedding

Intimate and Laid Back Family Gathering Style London Wedding (7)

Hannah and Jonathan met through Hannah’s sister and her husband who is Jonathan’s best friend! They knew each other for ten years before getting together, when they realised they had been kindred spirits all along. Despite long distance (San Francisco to London) they stayed together and after a year Jonathan proposed and six months later they were hitched!

They wanted to keep their wedding small and local, and didn’t want the day to feel like a wedding at all, but instead a special day of bringing together their two families. They wanted it to be relaxed and laid back and to feel just like a big family gathering. They did away with a lot of traditions which they didn’t feel were necessary and only included what was important to them.

Great Gatsby & Art Deco Inspired Pub Wedding

Great Gatsby & Art Deco Inspired Pub Wedding (35)

Brooke and Reece first met in high school and were married in Australia in September. The main inspiration for the wedding was their venue; The Provincial Hotel in Fitzroy. It had the laid back feel they were after and had lots of rustic charm. Their theme was mash up of rustic, handmade details and the Great Gatsby. They decided to not have a first dance, cut the cake or throw the bouquet as they didn’t want a scheduled wedding with time frames and things to remember, they just wanted to party!

Great Gatsby & Art Deco Inspired Pub Wedding (7)

“We have a love for the art deco era but didn’t want to fully base the wedding on a theme so we chose certain aspects to be art deco inspired and the rest rustic and laid back,” explained Brooke. “We really wanted a venue that was in Fitzroy as that area means a lot to us. We were so happy to find out that The Provincial Hotel does weddings as we frequent there often and we wanted the venue to show a little something about us.”

Rock n Roll Village Hall Wedding with Lots of DIY

Rock n Roll Village Hall Wedding with Lots of DIY (7)

Becca and Andy wedding theme was 1950s Rock’n Roll and Rockabilly. They were inspired by their love for anything retro, quirky and just a little bit different!

“The day before the wedding was a total disaster.” began Becca. “Problems with the hooks in the wall at the village hall meant that the marquee lining didn’t finish being put up until 9:30pm (although those guys worked like troopers!) so we didn’t start setting anything up until after that. We got home at gone midnight absolutely exhausted praying we hadn’t forgotten something! Luckily we didn’t have any disasters on the actual wedding day.”

“Our ceremony was at Lyme Regis Guildhall, right next to the sea. It was quite small and personal and only our family and close friends attended. Then we got to have some photos next to the sea, even if it was raining with high winds in the middle of August!”

Alice in Wonderland Museum Wedding Inspired by Salvador Dali

Alice in Wonderland Museum Wedding Inspired by Salvador Dali (76)

Paige and Rick described their wedding theme as ‘a wedding in Wonderland’ and they were inspired by a version of Lewis Carol’s Alice in Wonderland illustrated by Salvador Dali. They used the book’s illustrations as inspiration for their different centrepieces, various decor and overall funky feel. They wanted the visuals to inspire curiosity much like Dali himself and his artwork, and hoped their wedding would transport their guests down the rabbit hole to Wonderland…

“As our guests entered the museum for our ceremony they were greeted with pink flower flamingos and the sign ‘Holy Shitballs Today is Going to be Awesome!’” began Paige. “Our ceremony took place on a helix shaped staircase in the middle of the Salvador Dali Museum with our family and friends on the floor above us looking down so everyone had a great view. We were married by the Mad Hatter with a light hearted, short and sweet ceremony. It was filled with messages of love but one of our most favourite parts was the ‘We Do’s’.”

Introducing: Confetti Girls (OMG I’ve Launched a YouTube Channel!)

confetti girls

Happy Valentine’s Day! With today being the international day of lurrrrrve, there’s probably no more fitting time to launch my new project so here we go!

I’m not ashamed to admit that I spent rather a lot of time on YouTube. I love watching my favourite YouTuber’s beauty tips, product reviews, vlogs, silly pranks and haul videos a little too much probably. However there does seem to be a distinct lack of decent wedding related content being made, so a little while ago I decided it was time to do something about it!

I’ve actually been wanting to start my own channel for YEARS but I’ve been too scared! I don’t really know how to edit videos, I’m not as comfortable on camera as I am with just writing, and I was worried about not having the time needed to commit to it.

Enter my babe Helen Anderson: Beauty guru, YouTube star, all round excellent person.

Over the past year we’ve become really great friends and when I told her I was considering starting a channel but I had no idea where to start she said “OMG, Kat, we should totally do one TOGETHER!” Helen’s actually in the middle of planning her own wedding too so she’s literally the perfect person to be partnering with!

We wanted a channel that encompassed both of our brands (hence why it’s not called the Rock n Roll Bride channel) and one that we could both add our own distinctive style and knowledge to. We also wanted it to potentially become a platform to invite other contributors to make videos for as well!

I AM SO EXCITED I COULD BURST.

Our current plan is to upload something once a week and we’ll be doing everything from hauls, lookbooks, unboxing videos, chats on different subjects, guest spots, DIYs and Q&A’s! In fact that’s exactly what we’ve started with today.

So head over to our channel, subscribe and leave us a comment. We’d love to hear what you think and if you have any ideas for future videos.

Laid Back Festival Inspired DIY Wedding

They wanted a laid back wedding with lots of food and drink, so Kara and Ash planned a festival inspired wedding for July. They had a small budget, but with a help and ideas from Rock n Roll Bride and Pinterest they were able to pull of a wonderful and really personal wedding.

“The day was about US!” began Kara. “It’s a day about our commitment to each other and we both just love a get together with good food, drinks galore and live music…so we figured we’d bring it to Scarborough with our friends and family. The thing we loved about our wedding was that it wasn’t just us that had fun – our guests really enjoyed it too.”

As transport, Kara’s mum drove the bride in her father’s old Haulage vehicle. “We had lots of unique details that were personal to us” she continued, “but one of the best was the vehicle that took me to the registry office. It was my grandfather’s and I was driven by my mum. It was taking its final delivery that day and it was a very memorable moment for both of us.”

Dinosaurs, Gatecrashers & Leopard Print Leggings: An Intimate Wedding for Just £500

Lynette and James’ wedding was quintessentially ‘them’. They were married with just the bride’s brother, the groom’s mum and their two children as guests. Their son wore a dragon onesie and their daughter fluffy ears and a tail. The bride wore leopard print leggings under her dress. After their short ceremony they all went to a local restaurant for lunch together.

“Our wedding was unplanned, smiley, full of love and dinosaurs!” said Lynette. “We just wanted everyone to enjoy the day and be happy. We spent less than £500 too. We were pretty impressed with ourselves. We are not materialistic people and the whole day was just about us and the fact we were getting married. We just invited the children and James’ mum. We just wanted minimum fuss and the whole day to be about us, our love and getting married. We wanted the day to be special to us and to only have each other and a couple of guests made it a much more intimate and special day in our eyes. Plus, now we can spend the money we saved on travelling and adventures!”
