Tacky or Awesome?

I’ve been told a few times that I’m too nice about everything and everyone on Rock n Roll Bride…now, considering I’m not such a heavenly creature in real life  that may be true.  However my argument is, why would I want to put someones wedding up here and slate it? That’s just mean and that not what the Rock n Roll Bride is about.  I’m all about celebrating uniqueness and diversity in weddings!

However, I just discovered Tacky Weddings (via Wedding Skulls) and omg this girl is doing all the bitching for everyone…and I love it!
I personally would never want to slag off someones wedding – I’d just avoid it if I didn’t like it, but you should defiantly go check out this site, either for the hilarity or maybe even for some inspiration (seriously the Gothic and the Hello Kitty weddings are awesome! – I’ve featured one of those Hello Kitty weddings before!)

Therefore I’m just sharing the Hello Kitty stuff here, because I actually love it and it’s tacky brilliance…

A Little Gothic Gem

Have you seen the photographs of Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Teese’s wedding?  Even though the marriage didn’t last very long (boo) I think these are defiantly worth a post, because if you haven’t seen these you are missing out on an absolute Gothic gem!
Seriously though how many dresses did this glamorous lady have?  I absolutely want to be her.

(I’ve included the text from the Vogue article becuase I think it’s defiantly worth a read!)

Be Inspired

I’ve got one more mini post for you before I sign off for the evening.  After perusing all your survey responses, I’ve discovered that the second most popular response to the question ‘what would you like to see more of on RnR Bride?’ was ‘Inspiration Boards’ (after ‘Real Weddings’ I’m glad to see I’m doing something right!)

Now..I’m no inspiration board expert (yet!) and I’m sure we all know that Kathryn over at Snippet & Ink is the actual queen of all things inspiration board, so for now I’m going to hand over to her with a couple of my favouritest of her amazing boards

However from now on, I want to hear from you.  Send me your inspiration boards, whether they’re for your own weddings or just for fun, and I’ll post the best ones right here…I may even give a prize if I get a lot of entries..but I haven’t thought of what that could be yet, leave that one with me!

My Prayers Have Been Answered

I wrote the lovely people at SimplyBloom a little letter…and they’ve actually done what I asked…woohoo!

An 18th Century, Walt Disney, Tea Party Extravaganza!

Oh how I do love an extravaganza..especially one as amazing as this one! Fae describes her wedding below:

The deal goes down at Walt Disney World, with 18th century inspired attire (blue dress!), and a tea party reception. Hand-fasting and vows from Broadway shows. Versailles meets Wonderland. Croquet. A masquerade dessert party. DIY-ing pretty much everything I can.

Yeah, it’s corny and over the top, but we’re corny, over the top people. There will be none of this half-assed princessery here. My whole ass will be princessy.

I NEVER planned to have much of a wedding, but after frustration with other venues, and a bout of the “let’s just go to the courthouse”, I gave in to WDW. I originally mentioned it just as passing fancy, it was Eric who thought we should go for it. …when he saw you could arrive in Cinderella’s Coach. Yeah, we’re both pretty much 8-yr old girls on the inside.

And I’ll probably catch hell from someone about this, but it’s our favorite damn place to be, lame as that is. So if you can get married in your favorite place, why not?

Fae is a doll clothing designer for Blythe and made a doll in one of her dresses too (cute!) whilst I love this dress, for me it’s all about that blue Cinderella dress – proper fairytale! Love it love it love it!  A huge thanks to Fae for sharing the joy!
