Super Mario Meets Metal Themed Israeli Wedding

Galit and Amir’s October wedding combined colourful, playful elements from the video game world’s happiest offering – Super Mario! Both Galit and Amir work in software testing and they love video games. The first flower Amir gave Galit was the fire flower doll from the game, so their wedding theme was set!

Lucky enough to have a talented planner and designer friend, the coupled briefed her to create a day that felt fun but not childish, taking inspiration from a game that celebrates colour, happiness and fun and translating it into a wedding design! Together with her staff, Vicka made the centrepieces, the designs for the wedding invites and Mario-themed photo props. They custom built props from PVC pipes, and customised carnations for Galit’s bouquet.

A Party Hard, Rock n Roll Tel Aviv Celebration with a Red & Black Dress Code

If you’ve picked up a copy of my book, then you may recognise Dafna and Eylon as their Las Vegas elopement is one of the real weddings featured inside. I LOVED those images and their story so much! Although they always wanted to get married in Vegas, they also wanted to celebrate with their loved ones back home in Tel Aviv, so it was the perfect excuse to have for a second wedding. The day was held at Bascula, a cultural arts centre that is home to a circus.

You are going to LOVE this wedding. The couple got ring finger tattoos during the ceremony, the groom wore a red veil and they partied so hard someone broken their arm! Now THAT my friends, is Rock n Roll!

“We named our wedding FESTILOVE, a celebration of Rock n Roll, art and of course love”, explained Dafna. “Originally we wanted a Halloween wedding, but had to accommodate our family from abroad so we scheduled it in December during Christmas vacations. Since we couldn’t separate completely from our Halloween fantasy, the design featured a lot of skulls, spiderwebs and endless amounts of red roses and hearts. Accordingly, we asked the guests to follow a red and black dress code.”

Cool, Intimate Garden Wedding… with Dark Witchy Vibes!

Yuta and Artyom met when Artyom was tattooed at the studio Yuta works out of. A few sessions under the needle later, they started talking and, as they say, one thing led to another and the rest is history!

They were married in an intimate garden ceremony at Cultura, Tel Aviv, with a reception for close family and friends in the beautiful yard straight after. Their ceremony was performed by Yuta’s good friend and mentor, and continued with a song from another friend that she’d written especially for the couple in Hebrew!

The wooden deck and foliage walls contrasting with the open Tel Aviv skyline made for an personal yet urban setting that really captured the atmosphere the couple wanted from their big day.

Most of their guests were young tattooed people, many working as tattoo artists themselves, so their wedding party looked especially cool. In fact their favourite part of their day was letting loose after the formalities and dancing with their friends. “After the responsibilities of the evening had passed, we were just surrounded by people who loved us and had come to celebrate our love,” explained Yuta. “It was such a great feeling.”
