The Big Lebowski Inspired Wedding Powered By Nature… and Tacos!

Kelly and Buck were married in September in an outdoor ceremony at Riveredge Nature Centre in Wisconsin, with a barn reception at the same venue.

Kelly, a print maker and paper artist extraordinaire, met Buck through her best friend Molly. They soon discovered a shared love for drawing, and Kelly, who works as an Admissions Counsellor for a Milwaukee art college, encouraged Buck to pursue his passion for drawing professionally. Buck picked up an apprenticeship and now works as a tattoo artist.

Heavily inspired by creativity and nature for their decor choices on the day, Kelly, together with best friend Molly created all the paper florals by hand; the reception decor, the bouquets and the flower crowns from crepe paper. Place names and table numbers were displayed with handwritten delicate paper leaves. The couple also included deer in their decor, with antlers on the top table and adorable an golden deer cake topper too.

Colourful, Tattoo Art Themed Wedding on a Farm

Claire and Trystan met in an art store in Truro, so of course their wedding was going to be all about the colour and the creativity! They pulled their rainbow, vintage, tattoo-themed day together for just £5,500.

The couple described their wedding vibe as, “Traditional tattoo art mixed with bright, bold colours and a hint of vintage. Trystan is a tattooist, and we are both collectors of tattoos and tattoo art, plus we have spent several years travelling around getting tattooed by our favourite artists. We knew we wanted our wedding to reflect this about us as it’s a major part of our lives that we love. The best man and most of the groomsmen are all tattooists too, so it all came together very naturally. The day was a true reflection of who we are as people.”

Their venue was the beautiful and rustic Thornsett Field and Farm in High Peak, Derbyshire. Claire said, “Kerry, who owns the barn, and her husband were incredible! They really go out of their way to ensure you have the perfect day. We started the set-up on the Monday before the big day, and they were on hand to offer help throughout. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more.” And having a wedding on a farm means loads of cute animal moments! “Pugsley the Pug greeted our wedding guests on arrival, Mabel the sheep took a starring role in our wedding pictures, and my beautiful dogs, Louie and Otis, caused chaos throughout the day – including a point at the end of the night where Otis was on the dessert table! It was animal madness in the best possible way.”

Sadie and Ped met when she booked him to do her first big tattoo. They were married in March and wanted their wedding to be like their best day out out together. That meant a ceremony with just the two of them, good food and getting inked!

”We just planned on having a relaxed day,” said Sadie. “We didn’t have a theme or any expectations of the day except that we would each end up married to our best friend! No-one knew we were planning on getting married, we kept the whole day a secret! We had no guests. The day was the ceremony followed by a pit stop at a tattoo studio. We were back at our hotel by 2pm in bed with food and Netflix! We then went out to eat in the evening, wearing our normal clothes and it just being our little secret we got married less than 10 hours earlier. it felt really special.”

American Courtney met her British groom met when she went to get tattooed by him! “I was following him on Instagram and I really loved his traditional work and, well, he was English (how dreamy)”, Courtney began. “But being in the US, I didn’t think I’d get an opportunity to ever get tattooed by him.”

“Then one day, he posted that he’d be coming to the Midwestern states and to email him if you were interested in getting tattooed. I jumped at the chance to get an appointment! When he replied the conversation was very natural and we began texting each other everyday for weeks. Long story short, Rich came over and we spent the whole time together. In that time we decided that in a month, I’d come to visit him in England.”

Kenzie and Jeremy had one goal for their August wedding – to break Vegas! “As soon as we got engaged we knew we didn’t want a typical wedding”, said the bride. “We didn’t want anything in a church, or anything really traditional. We also knew we didn’t want to have anything huge, and one way to eliminate a massive guest list is to make it a destination wedding.”

“Our friends are some of the most amazing people on the planet and we wanted to be able to go somewhere where everyone could let loose and have a blast. So we decided to pick up and go to Vegas. It’s an amazing city where dreams can come true, and ours did. We wanted our wedding to be fun, light hearted, crazy, amazing. We were very honoured that Jeremy’s dad was there too. He hadn’t seen him for 20 years and he made it out to the wedding!”
