Magical, Playful & Colourful Unicorn Wedding

There’s only one thing more magical than a wedding I think… and that’s a wedding with a unicorn! Issy and Brad’s summer celebration was themed around the pastel colours that the bride in particular really loves, and when she had the idea to get a unicorn there too, there was no stopping her!

“It was SO hard to find a human height unicorn!” she laughed, “I almost gave up and went for a small one from a theatre prop hire company, until I luckily searched on Facebook and found the lovely, newly set up Unicorn Prop Hire Events! It was driven down from Essex in a horse box, I like to imagine people seeing a unicorn head through a window of the horse box and wondering if they were seeing things!”

DIY-Heavy Sunshine Yellow Summer Picnic Wedding

If this wedding doesn’t turn your frown upside down there just may be no hope for you. Looking at these sunshine-filled shots almost makes me feel like its actually summer outside.

The wedding in question belongs to Carmel and Killian who were married last July on Rosedew Farm in South Wales. “Our wedding was inspired by British summer fairs and picnics”, began the bride. “Luckily it was the best summer that we’ve seen in years as well so it was perfect! We love how much we did for ourselves, it was really hard work but it paid off in the end and everything just felt that little bit more special that we’d put our heart and soul into it all. Literally everything, even down to the napkins, was hand made.”

With a budget of £10,000 (although in reality they spent closer to £14,000) they saved lots of money by having the bride’s dad do the catering (what a champ!) They also saved on Carmel’s dress (a vintage find that was only £60!), by everyone doing their own hair and make up and by the bride making the bridesmaid dresses herself! Their cake that was gifted to them by friends and they made all the stationery and did all the flower themselves too.

Laid Back Vegan Picnic Wedding on a Tuesday Afternoon

Louise and Jack celebrated their marriage with a super lovely vegan picnic in the park with their little girl, and gave us all a masterclass in how you truly can have a day that’s only about you and your love.

“Our wedding theme was ‘Let’s do this thing and share our new family name’!” Louise explains. “We really just wanted to be married, to be husband and wife.” They went for a really basic, witnesses-only ceremony on a Tuesday afternoon at Cheltenham Registry Office – Louise says it took longer to fill out the paperwork than it did to get married! In their ceremony, Louise and Jack both changed their name, as they wanted “To share a name that meant so each of us, rather than just following tradition.”

Side note: How emotional was their first look? To be honest, how totally emotional are all of the Luna Palm Photography photos, and, of course, this beautiful video:

As she was seven months pregnant with their second child, Louise chose not to wear a dress, opting for a white multiway jumpsuit from Pretty Little Thing. Louise also took a glue gun to a simple flower crown from ASOS to make it suit her a little better.
