Spanish Inspired Rockabilly Meets Rock n Roll Wedding in South Africa

Gabbi and Kyle met through the alternative nightclub scene in South Africa. Ten years to the month that they first laid eyes on each other they were hitched at Langverwagt Historical Farm in Cape Town.

Touches of Spanish culture were incorporated throughout the day to reflect the couple’s love of the country. It was the first place that they vacationed together and continues to be their favourite place to visit. “Besides the fact that I am completely in love with all that is Spain, it was on our very first vacation overseas together, in a beautiful 18th-century hacienda in Toledo”, the bride began. “We wanted to get married there but couldn’t afford to do a destination wedding with 90-100 close family and friends included, so the challenge then became to recreate the look and feel back home in Cape Town.”

“The aim was to not create a cheesy Spanish theme, but to rather incorporate aspects of the style and food in the right environment to recreate the same ambience. I really wanted it to feel genuine and for guests to truly feel transported. Added to this I wanted to add some vintage touches to reflect my personality, and bit of a Rock n Roll flare to represent Kyle. Overall we wanted a sophisticated and classic look for us to look back on one day.”

Modern & Colourful Meets Industrial & Laid-Back Spanish Wedding

Laura and Bruno met in their home-town of Los Angeles, but Laura always knew she’d head back to her birth country of Spain to get married. “We were well aware that planning a wedding is a difficult task, even more so when you’re thousands of miles away!” she explained. “So the first decision we made was to hire a planner. We were so worried about the organisation, we decided to dedicate a portion of our €28,000 budget to hiring a professional to take care of all the worrying for us.” They hired Lorena of Eventos Clandestine to help them pull their destination wedding off without a hitch.

They started with considering what type of day they’d like – a party where they were surrounded by family and friends, and something that would give off their energy and love of colour. Because of the distance, it was impossible for Laura and Bruno to even attempt any DIY projects for their day, so Lorena had full reign with decor.

Romantic Boho Wedding in Mallorca

Neus and Joan’s Spanish wedding is nothing short of dreamy. Hosted on their family estate in Palma, Mallorca, their day was laidback luxe with romantic boho touches.

As all good love stories do, Neus and Joan’s starts with the sentence “a bacon sandwich and a coke, please”. They met in bar where Joan used to have breakfast every morning, and fell in love instantly! “With those first words none of us would have thought that a love would grow from it, but against all odds we feel for each other and all the differences were left aside to start our love story,” Neus says.

“The inspiration was my personality!” she continues. “It was all very personal – it was held in our family and my cousin, Margalida, officiated it.” Their ceremony was held in a secluded area of the estate with guests lining the stone path to watch. Their florist suspended single flower heads from above stacked with greenery, and attached romantic floral arrangements to the ends of the chairs, as well as creating a boho arch made of greenery.
