Ana and Juanjo met through work. After dating for seven years they had their son, Mario, and seven years after that, on June 20th this year, they were married in Casares Costa, Spain.
“We didn’t have any particular theme for our wedding, we just wanted to be us and our guests to be themselves!”, Ana said. “We love music from the 60s and 70s and the Woodstock music festival so I guess that inspired us a bit. We also love American country music which was the inspiration for my outfit. The wedding was held in the South of Spain, overlooking the ocean. The beach location worked really well with this variety of styles. It really came together very well.”
Ana’s dress was handmade by her mother. The fabric had belonged to her for 30 years, and she’d kept it especially for her future wedding dress. “The wedding was such a special day”, she continued. “It was such a beautiful place on the beach where everybody I love could enjoy the great company, food, music and drinks! Everyone was so happy. All our family and friends were smiling, talking, singing and dancing. We felt the love of everybody there.”
The glorious wedding of Val and Jones was held at Vinyols Camps in Spain. They wanted the day to be relaxed, fun and full of details that were personal to them. Val carried a ‘bouquet’ of broccoli instead of flowers because she is a huge advocate for sustainability and minimalism, and they drank tea as part of their ceremony because they both love it!
“Jones loves the colour white and I am an advocate for sustainable things, so both these ideas inspired our wedding”, wrote Val. “We wanted a 3-day wedding too because we had lots of people coming in from quite a long way away.”
It’s no great secret that I adore colourful weddings. Eli and Miquel clearly feel the same because their Spanish wedding was filled will glorious colour! “We wanted our wedding to have an air of festivity and a colourful but casual tone”, said the bride, “It was a magical night. The venue, L’Avellana Mas d’en Cabre, really helped to make everything a success.”
The wedding fell on June 23rd, St. John’s Eve, the eve of celebration before the Feast Day of Saint John the Baptist. “Because it was St. John’s Eve, everyone was even more in the party spirit”, she continued. “Our inspiration was this night, the first night of the summer, and was full of magic and colour.”
