Impulsive Elopement in Vienna

Jenni and Ibrahim eloped in Vienna. They actually decided to get married very impulsively so they only had a few weeks to plan everything. After the quick ceremony, they had a simple meal at Restaurant El Hans, with the few family members that had flown out with them. After returning home they held a house party for their friends to celebrate.

“Because getting married was such a impulse decision we didn’t set a budget or plan for anything”, explained Jenni. “In total we spent around £2800 on our outfits, travel, accommodation, food and our photographer. My dress was second hand from eBay. It wasn’t branded and cost me £10! My shoes were also from eBay, second hand from Miss Selfridge and they also cost me £10!”

Disney Lovers’ Bruce Springsteen Inspired Wedding

Rock n Roll Walt Disney wedding (25)

Getting engaged at Disneyland Paris was the guiding force behind Steph and Greg’s May wedding. They wanted a day that reflected their love of all things Disney, without breaking the bank. They spent less than £6000 on their special day.

“Every time I told anyone what we were having at our wedding their response was always ‘That’s just so you two!’ and I think that really summed up our day”, explained Steph. “It’s not every day that you go to a Disney/ Bruce Springsteen themed wedding! We really just wanted everyone to feel like they were at a party, rather than a formal wedding, as it was really a celebration of us as a couple, and we’re not at all serious people.”

“The table names were all Disney World rides that we loved and our guestbook was a replica of the adventure book from Up. My bouquet was made entirely from Disney World park maps! We wore mouse ears in the evening and had Mickey and Minnie on top of our cake. We also both love Bruce Springsteen so I walked down the aisle to If I Should Fall Behind and our band for the evening were a Bruce Springsteen tribute, The East Street Band.”

Dinosaurs and Gold Glitter Wedding

Engagement shoot, wedding photographer UK, London.

Sarah-Lily and Jon wanted a fun wedding that they’d created themselves. Their main theme was dinosaurs and glitter and all their family and friends pitched in to help.

“We wanted our wedding to be relaxed”, the bride told me. “We’re both massive dinosaur fans (our first date was to the Natural History Museum!) so we also wanted to incorporate that into it. We also love festivals and summer fairs, so that was another big inspiration.”

“All the dinosaur decorations were hand-glittered”, she continued. “There were 52 of them! My bridesmaids helped me glitter them plus 50 jam jars which were filled with our favourite sweets for people could munch on throughout the day. Jon made over 60 origami T-Rex’s and my mum made over 80 metres of bunting, as well as our wedding cake and all the gingerbread favours! My dad made the frame for the table plan. Our guest book was combined with the photo booth, so guests took a picture of themselves using the Polaroid camera that we got off of eBay and then hung on a tree, it was great!”

Creative DIY Wedding in Cornwall

creative cornish diy wedding (9)

Heather and Kev’s wedding was full of quirky little DIY touches. They didn’t want it to feel too orchestrated though; they just wanted it to feel natural and homemade. “After spending weeks and weeks reading through the brilliant Rock n Roll Bride blog, I decided on a bright theme with a 1950s twist”, said Heather. “We wanted to keep things DIY too, with no massive styling required. We wanted it to feel like we’d done everything ourselves and that it was authentically ‘us’.”

“Our friends helped us with lots of things. My maid of honour spent hours punching heart shaped holes into tissue paper for the table confetti, and endless time making the table plans! She was my saviour during the whole wedding process. The pom poms were made by my mum and the flowers were arranged by my godmother. We made the glitter letters and stationery ourselves too.”

Vintage Inspired Dinner Party Wedding

Kate and Oli wanted their wedding to be casual and to feel like ‘them’. They were married at The Belle Epoque in Knutsford in November.

“The inspiration for our wedding was basically just us”, the groom explained. “We wanted it to be a symbol of what we were about. Just two mates who were in love with great people around us. The wedding would not of been possible with out the hard work and support of everyone in that room – everyone contributed in some form.”

The bride wore a dress from Etsy with Irregular Choice shoes. Her bridesmaids were all in different dresses, Kate just asked them that the picked something lilac or pastel blue.
