Classical Music Meets Metal in a Midnight Garden Wedding

Combine tonnes of roses, a flower boy and a sprinkling of ladybirds and you’ll be fairly close to Eva and Kitty’s wedding day. Their vision was a gothic, night and nature-inspired vibe, with a witchy touch. The couple used deep red tones, rich lace, black fabric and gold stars to create the perfect midnight garden.

Music played a big part in the day, as Kitty explained, “Music was like classical meets metal, and Joe Satriani as a cherry on top of the cake at the ceremony.” Kitty’s friend also played guitar and sang, as a really special addition to the celebration.

Rustic, Vintage, Romance

The second UK wedding of the day is Clare & Dean’s classically beautiful rustic, vintagey romantic wedding. They employed the talents of my good friend Penny Merricks of Tigerlily Weddings to plan their day to perfection. Didn’t she do a fabulous job?

“I made all the invites that featured vintage lovebird stamps and ‘to have and to hold’ ribbon from Cox & Cox Clare told me. “Also I handmade the luggage tags for place cards with same vintage bird stamps and ribbon. I asked friends and family to collect glass jam jars for months, and we covered them with lace and ribbon for tea-light holders. A designer friend of ours also made the booklet that contained the history of the barn, order of ceremony, pictures of our parents and grandparents on their wedding days, the menu and the last page contained a quiz about us both… also using the same vintage love bird stamps.”

Goth ‘n Grunge

The dark feel of this trash the dress shoot is pretty damn fabulous huh? I am loving Michelle’s black fishnets, patent shoes and feathers in her hair – they certainly make for a grungy edge to the shoot. Michelle even made a dead flower bouquet to really empathise the gothic-esque feel.

A Geeky, Offbeat, Tea Party, Country Wedding!

Boy oh boy…I have to say there is a hell lot of wedding awesomeness flying in and around my inbox this week. I have been inundated with so many emails of gorgeousness that it really has been hard to keep up. Fret not though as I do plan on blogging all of the beauty at some point!

Right now, well what can I say that could possibly live up to these? The very lovely Rosalie of the Tea and Whimsy blog booked my buddy David McNeil for her wedding to Jamie last month. She has gone over all the details, budget saving tricks (they only spent about £4000/$6000 on the whole thing!) and DIY gems on her site, but I’m just here to share the swoonfest that is these photographs…oh and to draw your attention to her freakin’ awesome bouquet! Yes those are real (dyed) roses!
