Rock n Roll Meets Rustic Glam Motorbike Wedding

Brenna and Shawn’s submission was called “dead stuff, gold stuff, black stuff and motorcycles” and we think that just about covers their amazing Rock n Roll meets rustic glam wedding! Having met whilst their bands were touring, it was always going to be a pretty epic celebration…

“Our inspiration was everything we like,” Brenna says, “Gold glittery glam tones and jewel tones, black and bones.” It was also important to the couple that the day was super personal: “Our wedding was at my aunt and uncle’s farmland which has been in our family for generations, and was my grandparent’s favourite place. We spent our wedding night in a hunting cabin that my grandfather and great-grandfather built by hand, that each generation has lovingly updated. It’s a truly beautiful place.”

Brenna looked IIIIIIINSANE in an incredible strapless dress from Oleg Cassini with the most gorgeous metallic floral pattern, before changing into a sequinned fitted stunner for the evening (insert red dancing lady emoji here). Confession – I totally teared up at the photo of her and Shawn, dressed in a smart Men’s Wearhouse suit, doing their first look. Her bridesmaids all wore their own black dresses and sunglasses.

Glamorous Boho Las Vegas Elopement… with a Rock n Roll Flare!

Alex and Tamara actually met in high school, and although it took several years for their relationship to blossom (despite Alex’ regular attempts to take Tamara on a date!) once they finally reconnected they were inseparable, and soon found themselves creating a life together.

The laid back couple hadn’t actually planned to get married, instead they had just booked a fun getaway to Vegas – in fact Tamara actually thought that marriage was never on the cards for them. “I always thought if two people love each other why do they need to be legally bound to one another?” said Tamara. But after three years of living together, two pit bulls and two children later, they thought it would be the perfect way to complete their family unit. They always knew they wanted a stress-free, easy-going wedding so a Las Vegas elopement was perfect for them – carefree and super fun, just like them.

Desert Bohemian Meets Rock n Roll Wedding in Joshua Tree

I would say Jess and Kenny’s wedding day was nothing short of magic, but that would be wrong: it was nothing short of spiritual and stunning. As lovers of the desert, and frequent visitors to Joshua Tree for quick getaways, they knew they had to get married out there. They also wanted to incorporate a little of their Native American background into the day, mixed with their love of Rock n Roll. What resulted was a desert bohemian wedding that is the stuff of dreams.

Jess and her bridal party got ready in old band t-shirts before changing into their deep red bridesmaid outfits (which they’d all chosen themselves), whilst Kenny and his party all looked slick in black suits in a Reservoir-Dogs-meets-rock-band photo shoot against the desert backdrop. Jess’ wedding dress was a strapless dress from Pronovias, which she wore with knee-high lace-up camel coloured boots from Nine West.

Mid-Century Inspired Rock n Roll Wedding with a DIY Kissing Booth

Georgia and Vince’s wedding was hosted in the most beautiful little chapel we’ve ever laid eyes on. It was brought to life by their love of the 50s and 60s and their lovely personal and romantic day.

“Vince and I share a love of all things mid-century,” Georgia explains, “including the music, the fashion, the hairstyles, and the cars. When we became engaged, we both knew exactly what we wanted for our wedding and took influence from our love of the 50s and 60s.”

Georgia looked stunning in a beautiful polka dot tulle rockabilly dress from Pixie Pocket and a retro style veil from Me and My Girl Vintage, which sat atop her perfectly curled hair and vintage-inspired make up. Also – JUST LOOK AT HER LOVE HEART NAILS! Fierce and we’re feeling it.

Vince wore all black from Ferrari Formal Wear, with a black polka dot pocket square. We also love that Georgia and Vince got ready together in the morning, before Georgia got changed for an intimate first look.

A Tattooed Dress for a Tattooed Bride!

Sally and Nick wanted their wedding to lean itself towards people dressing up and so they went for a vintage Rock n Roll theme with some unique tattoo twists. The bride even wore a tattooed wedding dress made for her by The Couture Company! They did a lot of DIY so everything had their stamp on it, had their reception at Sally’s dad’s venue, and had very few formalities except for the speeches and the dances.

“Our ceremony was a small and intimate do at Stanton Lakes, in Leicestershire”, began Sally. “We had both said that we didn’t want a big ceremony, or a religious do (despite Nick being a son of a preacher and my mother’s best efforts to book the biggest fairytale castle possible!) and we physically couldn’t fit everybody into the ceremony venue so we restricted that to immediate family and very close friends. The room overlooked the lake and was lit in pale blue to match our theme. We had a few drinks in the bar afterwards and then headed to the party at Victoria Farm which started at 3pm and carried on until midnight.”

“We’d decided we weren’t going to put champagne on the tables for the speeches as we both hate it!” she laughed. “Originally we were just going to give people vouchers for the bar to get what they wanted, but then our caterer pointed out that this would cause a rush on the bar and it wouldn’t be possible to get that many people served in a short space of time. So we decided to make our own cocktails, which we put out in jugs on the tables just before the speeches. The whole thing worked really well, although we *might* have made the alcoholic ones a bit stronger than intended!”

Retro, Rock n Roll & Flower-Focussed Wedding in Hollywood: Becky & Daniel

rockinhollywoodwedding huber32

Being a florist, Becky always knew that flowers would play a big part in the décor of her wedding. So when she and Daniel for engaged it was first thing on her agenda! The day had a retro and Rock n Roll theme and was held at The Redbury Hotel in Hollywood.

“As a floral designer, I’ve had visions of my wedding long before I had a ring”, Becky began. “I was looking forward to designing a wedding that was different from our other clients. Currently, pastel pallets are in fashion and those damn succulents just won’t go away. I wanted to use traditional flowers (like carnations and mums) to capture our mod theme but used in modern exciting ways. Likewise, we used traditional styles with current and fashionable flowers; all the mom’s had classic pin-on corsages but with beautiful yellow garden roses. I’m just very lucky that my business partner is such a hard worker! She constructed an 8′ tall ombre curtain of carnations and a couple of 5′ tall flower topiaries for the ceremony.”

“Daniel and I met at a bar five years ago when his band was on tour”, she explained “hence, the importance of our Rock n Roll theme. Had it not been for Rock n Roll we never would have met! He was living in Portland, Oregon and I had just moved back home to Northern California after graduating from San Francisco State University. We did the long distance thing for a spell before we just went for it.”
