After Party: A Sparkly, Dance-The-Night-Away Inspired Bridal Shoot for Rock n Roll Bride Magazine

Finding just one dream wedding outfit for is a pretty tall order, which is why we are ALL about wedding day outfit changes here at Rock n Roll Bride! Whether that’s as simple as swapping your veil for a crown, adding a warm jacket, or kicking off your heels (literally!) so you have something more conformable to dance in… Or you want a whole second outfit that’s more suited to throwing some serious shapes on the dance floor, we are here for it!

This shoot was pulled together by my crack team of wedding wizards and me to showcase some of the second outfits you might be tempted to rock as night starts to fall on your wedding day. If you’re the kind of bride to put the E in EXTRA, then you’re going to love these bridal ensemble ideas that will absolutely get the party started!

The editorial was shot on the rooftop of the Ace Hotel in London, a fantastically versatile space that is great for dusk cocktails with THE view of the city, a private party or, yes, even your wedding.

Our model was the completely gorgeous Stephi Eliza, a fashion blogger who I actually stalked found on Instagram! We also worked with some incredibly talented, independent designers for this shoot. I love being able to showcase brands and designers that you might not have seen featured elsewhere before.

Issue 27 is Available for Pre-Order Now!

Sorry, this product is now sold out!

YAY! Issue 27 of Rock n Roll Bride magazine is now available for pre-order! You can grab your copy right now and if you’re in the UK you’ll probably even get it before it goes into shops next week. OR, why not subscribe so you never miss an issue again?

Do you know what the hardest part of producing a magazine is? It’s not writing the content, doing the editorial shoot, finding the weddings to feature or even dealing with the print and distribution… It’s the covers! Covers are SO HARD because there are so many elements that need to come together exactly right in order for it to work. Plus, there are differing opinions and favourite images and let’s face it, when it comes to the magazine being on the newsstands the cover is literally what will or won’t make a browsing shopper stop and pick it up. They say don’t judge a book by its cover… Well people definitely DO judge a magazine by its cover!

The reason I’m sharing this with you is because I feel that this issue’s cover is quite different to any of the others we’ve had recently and we’ve taken a bit of a risk. It’s not a massively bridal image (but hell yeah to brides in gold jumpsuits and glasses please!) and I don’t think I’ve ever seen an orange wedding magazine cover before – BUT I LOVE IT.

It’s certainly different, it’s certainly fierce and it’s certainly going to stand out on the shelves next to all the white-on-white trad bridal mags. Only time will tell whether it will positively or negatively effect sales because it’s such a departure from what people might expect from a wedding magazine but I’m excited to take the risk! After all, if you keep doing the same as everyone else, you end up being like everyone else and, as we all know, Rock n Roll Bride ain’t about that!

Cover photo by Love Looks Like Photography – the full wedding is featured inside!

Love wins. Always.

No matter where we grew up, what our sexual orientation is or how we self-identify, love is the thing that keeps the world turning. You may think I’m being cheesy but if you think about it hard enough, is there anything else that motivates you more than love?

When I sat down to plan this issue I wanted that to be the core message throughout – that no matter what, love is the most important thing. Forget the wedding planning stress, forget the bloody table plan, forget trying to keep everyone else happy – instead, focus on the reason why you’re getting married in the first place – BECAUSE LOVE – and you won’t go far wrong.

The content inside this issue is beaming out of my heart towards yours, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading it as much as I did putting it together. Inside you’ll find over 100 pages of brand new weddings, as well as articles and inspiration to help you plan your day in your own unique way.

Androgyny: A Gender Neutral Bridal Shoot from Rock n Roll Bride

This shoot, as featured in Rock n Roll Bride magazine issue 24, was created by me and my team for the fearless bride who isn’t afraid to push bridal fashion boundaries. We wanted to play with gender neutral tailoring and pair outfits with Converse or a pair of brogues to create an effortless and minimalist look.

If you’re not one to wear a dress on your wedding day, then why not try experimenting with jumpsuits, sheer shirts, statement blazers and wide legged trousers or cigarette-style pants? Adding layers of texture with different fabrics will also add interest whilst retaining the feeling of simplicity.

This shoot took place at the gorgeous Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green (thanks for having us!) and we worked with two beautiful models this time, Daisy (cropped hair) and Darcey (bobbed hair). I hope you love this shoot just as much as I do!
