Vibrant Tradition

Indian weddings always make me smile…it’s all the colour, the jewellery and the tradition of it all – I’m not completely anti-tradition you see! A friend of mine who got married a few months after me and had a traditional Indian wedding and our celebrations couldn’t have been more different! For starters their ceremonies go on for about 4 hours and the actually wedding celebrations last at least a week!

Thanks to Moe for sharing!

ps For those of you that have been asking, my photo shoot yesterday was very cool – it was probably the hottest day of the year and we were knackered afterwards but it was so much fun! I got to dress up like a punky pink princess on acid..I can’t wait to see and share the results!

Lolita Bride?

I’ll stick with a little non-wedding wedding inspiration for this post. I adore Japanese Lolita fashion and as soon as I saw these images I knew I’d have to share. Imaging Bridesmaids dressed like this! Cuuute!

ps If you fancy learning more about Japanese fashion and style, you must check out my gorgeous friend La Carmina’s fabulous blog!

Korean Drama

This Korean couple donned some traditional dress for their very untraditional, vintage photo shoot. How bloody fantastic!

ps If you haven’t already (or even if you have) then you most definitely have to enter my new amazing contest – and remember, if you don’t add the photographs (or link to the photographs) in your comment your entry will not be valid (sorry to sound like a headmistress but for some reason, I have had loads of entries sans photographs!)

If Capa Shot Weddings!

I love featuring weddings from the UK. Have a gander at this little beauty sent in by British photographer Phillip Allen.  They look like that had a lot of fun…

Petia and Chris married in March at Poole Guildhall in Dorset, UK.
One of the most exciting aspects of the day for me as a photographer
was a beach landing they made at Studland on the Isle of Purbeck,
where their reception was held. After the ceremony they sailed out of
Poole Harbour on a 40 foot yacht with family and close friends (who
own and crewed the yacht) with a small outboard craft trailing
behind. As we approached land, bride, groom, photographer and yacht’s
skipper alighted the outboard and headed for the beach. The water was
somewhat on the nippy side it not quite yet being Spring in the
region but it added an exhilarating stimulus to an already exciting
method of moving between wedding ceremony and reception. Prior to the
big day I’d been researching Robert Capa’s beach landing shots,
though thankfully we weren’t under fire on the day in question
itself! A friend did retrospectively suggest adopting the approach of
Method Wedding Photography though, stating that I should have ordered
the groom (and by consequence the bride) to hit the surf face down!

So Stylish It Hurts

This intimate wedding is so stylish it hurts and Julia’s Vera Wang dress (the white one) makes me swoon…overall conclusion – I have much love for this wedding!

Rain Check

Fancy perving over a plethora of engagement shoots? Well head on over to Steep Street Musings. Kelty is a ridiculously talented photographer, web designer and maker of satchels (is there anything this girl can’t do?) and her engaged sister Hannah has been raving all about her to me..aww sisterly love!

This ‘rain check’ session is one of my favourites as they prove you don’t have to have glorious sunshine for fabulous photos…in fact the rain water on the ground makes for some brilliant reflections and you get the bonus of interesting, moody sky!

If you fancy some non-wedding gorgeousness, you most definatly have to check out this cupcake photoshoot…another one of my favourites!
