So, What Happens Next?

For most of you, your wedding and impending marriage is probably the biggest, most life changing thing you have ever done right?  But what happens next?
I’m not talking about the post-wedding depression you might read about elsewhere, but the question that will crop up as soon as you become a Mrs (or Mr!) “So, will we be hearing the pitter patter of teeny tiny feet soon?”

As a newlywed myself (can I still be considered a newlywed after nearly a year!?) I get this question constantly..which is fine, it’s to be expected, but I’m 25 for goodness sake…and I just bought a very fast car (hehe I had to get that one in there!) which although it is roomy is probably not the most suitable form of transport for a child…and I’m all about my cat, Akira right now.

There is loads out there on the world wide web about babies and all the jazz…probably as much as, if not more than stuff about weddings.  Yet, as with weddings, you very rarely hear from the man’s perspective.  However Marcus is trying to change that.  He has just started a blog called Terrified Dad – what a brilliant name!  Want to read all about how scary babies are? Well head right over there!

Seriously, babies do terrifyme, and don’t get me started on the whole pregnancy thing…so just to lighten the load I thought I’d better illustrate this post with a the most non-scary photograph I could find..balloons!

A Little Personal Ramble

Just a quick note to say sorry I haven’t posted that much (for me!) over the last couple of days…for some reason I’ve been really busy in my non-cyber life. I do have some great stuff to share when I get my act together (I’m thinking either later on tonight or early next week as my usual Monday uber posting session has had to be postponed as I’m off to shoot some new photographs with Rosie Parsons – I’m so excited and can’t wait to share the results with you after.  Her work is just amazing!

Also…just because I’m talking about myself, I was a very naughty little blogger and bought myself a very fast, very cool car yesterday eeeeeeek! I’m so excited it’s not even funny.  Look how pretty it is! Obviously I’ve gone for black though as pink hair + red car = not a good look.

And finally…to keep you going until I get my act together (it won’t be long I promise, you all know I am a total blogaholic!) some images from a new wedding shot by one of my favourites Dixie Pixel Photography

Getting To Know You…

As I mentioned before, the very lovely Jennifer has asked me to be a weekly guest blogger on her new blog Savvy Scoop.  I’m the Monday morning gal so be sure to check in every Monday for a brand new instalment!

However, I am well aware that I have a lot of brand new readers floating around R’nR Bride at the moment, so I thought what a good time to let you know (or re-know if you’re old skool) who I am and what I’m all about (basically I wrote this for Savvy Scoop and I liked what I’d written so much I thought it’d be unfair not to share it with you guys too!)

Rock ‘n Roll Bride promotes individuality and general awesomeness in a cookie cutter, pastel pink, poufy dressed wedding world. Don’t let the wedding industry define your day – let *you* define your day.

I’m Kat AKA The Rock ‘n Roll Bride.  I’m a pink haired, tattooed, Britney loving girl who has a rather sizable obsession with weddings…oh and yes you did read that right.  Britney.  As in Britney Spears. I love her.  Don’t mess…Britney and 24 are my weaknesses. Just leave it ok!?  I thought I’d let you in on my dirty little secret right from the outset as I hope we can have a frank, open and ultimately a friendly blogging relationship.  I’m afraid despite my Rock ‘n Roll persona, on the inside I am most defiantly a bit of a loser!  That brings me quite nicely around to my thought process behind R’nR Bride.

I started the site as a mini blog for me to gather my wedding planning thoughts and ideas when myself and my Gareth (my computer geek, super sexy husband – you’ll get to know him soon I’m sure) were planning our wedding for last April (seriously I still can’t believe we’ve been married nearly a year!)  I didn’t really think many people would want to read my scrapbook-esque random rambling blogging, but for some reason people did, and they liked it.  So the blog grew and grew, past the actual wedding day (which was fabulous, amazing, the best day of my life btw) and morphed into this big giant official Rock ‘n Roll Bride wedding blog.
Oh, and before I move on I must stress this, the most important thing about me and R’nR Bride…

To be featured on my site, you don’t have to be cool.  You don’t have to be ‘out-there’, you just have to be you.  (I’m pretty sure we have already established the ‘cool’ thing as I let you in to my Britney love right from the outset, but I just wanted to be sure)

So that’s me.  I’m 24 (25 next month) and from the UK (let’s say London – I work there and live pretty near there and it’s really much easier to say London as I’m pretty sure you won’t have heard of my actual hometown..Reading) so I will apologise right now if any of my British slang cuts through and you have no bloody idea what the bleedin’ ‘eck I’m talking about (see?) But please feel free to say ‘huh? translation please!?’  I won’t be offended…very little offends me in fact so don’t be scared.  One last thing I have a Maine Coon kitty called Akira who is actually the cutest thing in the world (although I’m pretty sure he’s in a bad mood with me right now) so if you hear (or should that be ‘read’?) me talking about Akira that’s who I’m referring to.

I am very much looking forward to my Savvy Scoop blogging adventure…and I hope you will join me on it. Taaadaaa!

See you there next Monday peeps!

One last thing (I think the sleep deprivation is getting to me, I am rambling even more than usual today) if you haven’t already I want to know about you..yes that’s right you there!  Just fill out this super speedy 5 minute survey for automatic entry to win some freeeee shooooes!

Gala Darling/iCING

I have just discovered a new (to me, she has been blogging since 1998 or something ridiculous) blog that has inspired me more than anything I have seen in a long while.  Not in any kind of theological or remotely deep way but in a fashion kind of way!  This girl dresses just as I should!  There are the obvious hair similarities between the two of us, but quite apart from that I find her style and wit so totally captivating!

I can see this is not so wedding-related…however the image to accompany this post could surely make for some amazing bridal style?!

Oh and quite apart from my shallow reasons for adoring my new find, iCING (the name of the site) has articles on anything you might want to know, from how to start a blog right the way through to how to get a non-rubbish tattoo…be warned you could spend hours on here!

I’m With The Band

These are strictly not wedding-related as they are actually promo photographs for a band, taken by Mary Frances…but they easily could be engagement photographs and maybe they will inspire somebody for their own engagements.  I hope so, because I love them!
