Win A Pair of Tickets to The National Wedding Show!

win a pair of tickets to nws

For the third season running, the Rock n Roll Bride Collection is coming to The National Wedding Show and today I want to tell you all about it!

For those of you that don’t know, last year we partnered with the UKs largest wedding fair to bring something altogether more alternative and eclectic into the mix. Not only is a visit to the show a rite of passage for any discerning bride-to-be, but now even alt babes can find ideas and suppliers that they’ll want to use for their wedding!

This season we’ll be joined in London by Crown and Glory, Nichola Ruby, Patchwork, Oh Snap UK, Poppy Dover, Gin Fizz Photography, Stargem Bridal, Twisted Glamour, Artcuts, Claire Louise Creates, Jigsaw Photography and Wishheart Tiara Design. In Birmingham we’ll be exhibiting alongside Lees Ice Dreams, Kevin Fern Photography, Crown and Glory, Artcuts and Jigsaw Photography and in Manchester you will be able to see Beetle Juice Cocktail Bar, Crown and Glory and Stella Photography!

This is just for starters too, with new exhibitors being added every day (do get in touch if you’re a wedding supplier and you’d like to join us) and over 500 exhibitors to see overall!

How to Get the Most Out of Attending Wedding Fairs

A Most Curious Wedding Fair_Eclection Photography (1)

It is looking like February and March this year are shaping up to be some of the busiest two months I’ve ever had because we are hitting the road and exhibiting at no less than FIVE wedding fairs in seven weeks! Oh lord, please help me.

Wedding fairs can be quite intimidating, but if you go into them with an idea of what you want to achieve and an open mind then they can be really fun and enable you to tick a lot of things off your list all in one day.

Do your research beforehand

When deciding which show to visit, have a look on their website at who the exhibitors are going to be. Then, make a shortlist of the people you really want to see and go to them first when you arrive. This will save you wandering around aimlessly feeling lost and confused!

Buy your tickets in advance

Most shows will offer significant discounts on tickets if you buy them in advance rather than on the door.

I have some exclusive discount codes at the bottom of this post for you too which will give you further savings on tickets for the shows we’re doing to be at this year. You’re welcome!

Think about who you want to bring with you

Try to limit the number of people you take with you. It can be tempting to make it a big day out with your mum, your future mother-in-law and all your bridesmaids, but if you have too many people with too many opinions it may end up confusing you or even making you question what it is you actually want.

Its also really easy to lose people in wedding fairs as the layouts are often designed to encourage you to wander around aimlessly rather than follow a direct route. I’ve lost count of the number of people who come up to me at shows asking if they know where such-and-such a stand is because their friend spotted something shiny and meandered off!

Go along early

Most shows start at 10 or 11am and going early is a really good idea. They get the busiest around the early afternoon and by the end of the day most of the exhibitors will be exhausted! Especially if you have someone you really want to see, get there early so you’re not fighting your way through the crowds to get to their stand.

National Wedding Show Ticket Giveaway & Exclusive Sneak Peek of Our New Veil Collection!!

Crown & Glory with Rock n Roll Bride, London Shoot.

Can you believe that the first National Wedding Show of the autumn season is next weekend? Me either! It seems like it was only about a month ago that we were doing the spring shows. I am super excited to get back on the road though, meet as many of you as possible and of course, launch my brand new veil collection that I’ve designed in collaboration with Crown and Glory!

Today I wanted to get you a little bit excited about the new range with a cheeky sneak peek of the lookbook shoot we did last week. Plus I’m hosting a contest to give away 25 pairs of tickets to the shows so you can come and see them in person! Keep reading until the end to find out how to enter.

The new collection is a bit more grown up that the last one, but still girly, glittery and super fun…

And even we’ve created our first full length veil! Yes those are holographic stars at the bottom!

As always, each piece will be fully customisable meaning you can select your preferred choice of embellishments. This is just a tiny preview, to be the first to see and order from the full collection then you’ll have to come along to one of the shows where the collection is being launched.

I am so proud to be partnering with the National Wedding Show for the second season running. The Rock n Roll Bride Collection is going to be bigger and better than ever with more alternative exhibitors, better workshops and the addition of the Rock n Roll Gallery to introduce you to some brand new suppliers!

Today I wanted to pop by and let you know just a small selection of the suppliers being showcased. There will be more added in the coming weeks too (if you have an alternative wedding business and you’d like to get in involved, it’s not to late. Get in touch!) so watch this space.

London: 23-25th September

At Olympia we’ll be joined by Bloody Mary Metal, Hannah Martin, The Whimsical Cake Company, Choccywoccydoodah, Boho Vintage, Clare Tam-in Photography, Nichola Ruby, Gin Fizz Photography, Patchwork, Craig and Kate Photography, Black Diamond Weddings, Caroline Arthur, Kitty & Dulcie and Crown and Glory – phew!

Birmingham: 30th September-2nd October

The brummy show takes place at the NEC and we’ll be there alongside Madame B’s Boutique, Miss Lola’s Bakehouse, Swizzle’s Matlow, Frock & Frill, Imagine Invites, Boutique Chic Unique, Green Button, Funkin Cocktails, Wish Upon A Sparkle, Flowers Forever, Amanda Cordine, Event in a Tent, Simply Flowers By Catherine, Daisy Dresses and again, Crown and Glory!

Manchester: 22nd & 23rd October

Finally the slightly smaller (but still mighty) show at Manchester Central will play host to Jane Bowler Studio, Mademoiselle, Event in a Tent, Jade Doherty, Magno Franco, Paper-Rose… oh yeah and Crown and Glory!

Let’s be honest, there are a lot of wedding fairs to choose from but the National Wedding Show is undoubtedly the biggest (there are over 300 exhibitors at each show!) and er, I’m going to be there so that has to count for something right? Ha!

Life Update, Our First Employee, and A Call for National Wedding Show Exhibitors!

red rock canyon_made u look (1)

Things have been pretty full-on of late. Not only have I been travelling a lot (I’ve been away more than I’ve been home over month – Vienna, Paris AND Vegas all within three weeks!) but I’ve been working on issue 10, multiple new collaborations and preparing for the National Wedding Shows which are taking place in September/ October – wah!

In fact things have been so busy that we’ve decided to bring on our first employee! My sister Rachel (yes, the one that got married!) is coming on board part time to help us with social media (to begin with, then probably a lot more stuff once she finds her feet). It’s very exciting yet scary to think about employing someone for the first time. Up until now we’ve always worked with freelancers when we’ve needed things done that we can’t do ourselves. It feels like a very big responsibility even though she’ll only be doing a few hours work a week!

Most other wedding bloggers have large teams these days, but I’ve always liked not having the responsibility of anyone else, and having complete control. However its just got to that stage now where Gareth and I physically can not keep up with everything we need and want to do, so it finally feels like the right time.

The Rock n Roll Bride Collection is BACK

Aaaanyway, in other news, I wanted to remind those wedding suppliers reading this that the Rock n Roll Bride Collection is coming back to the National Wedding Show and WE NEED YOU to make it as awesome as possible! Things have changed a bit this season too.

As well as the usual shell scheme for exhibitors, I had the idea to create the Rock n Roll Bride Gallery, which will be an area that will feature some of the very best alternative wedding suppliers. The difference between this and the rest of the show is that each supplier will get a plinth to display just a couple of their products, rather than a full stand. I almost want it to be like a little Rock n Roll Bride boutique and its going to be rad!

The Gallery is for those suppliers that maybe aren’t quite at the stage in their business where they’re able to afford a ‘proper’ stand just yet. The section is also by application only (aka not everyone who applies will be accepted) and I’ll be personally vetting each and every one. I want to make sure the Gallery is a killer selection of suppliers that I would genuinely recommend to my followers.

The Rock n Roll Bride Collection is BACK… & it’s Going to be Better Than Ever!

NWS16_Rock and Roll Bride_210x297_AUTMN.indd

I’m so excited to let you know that I’m partnering with the UK’s biggest wedding show for the second time for their Autumn season! The Rock n Roll Bride Collection is coming back to the National Wedding Show and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.

Not only will we have some of the coolest alternative wedding suppliers exhibiting with us, but after getting your feedback on the last shows, we’re planning to make the interactive workshops much better too. Sophie and I will even be doing a flower crown one (watch this space!)

But that’s not all, I am also super pumped that at every show you’ll be able to browse the Rock n Roll Bride Gallery, a carefully curated new section which will feature some of my personal favourite wedding suppliers. This section is going to be invite only, meaning I’ll be personally emailing the designers and makers that I’m obsessed with to ask them along.

The shows are taking place in London from 23-25th September, Birmingham from 30th September-2nd October and Manchester on 22nd & 23rd October and if you’re super keen you can snap up your tickets right now.

WEDDING SUPPLIERS, READ THIS!

Do you want to be there with me? Do want to put your product or service in front of upward of 16,000 brides and grooms that will attend each of these huge events?
