A Shabby Chic Wedding with Vintage Touches: Hannah & Andy

“Random but fun” was how Hannah & Andy described their Peterborough wedding to me. They bought as many elements into their day as they could, the only rule was they had to have significance to them and their relationship.

They served their favourite food, bangers & mash followed by individual pots of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. They also collected as many random jars and bottles from car boot sales and antique shops as they could in the run up, and kept their floral arrangements simple and inexpensive by placing single roses in them for the centrepieces.

“What we really wanted was for the whole day to be fun for us and all the guests, as often at weddings the time can drag or there can be long pauses between sections,”  Hannah explained. “We hired a magician to turn up after the speeches, two roulette tables with croupiers and a photo booth from Say Fromage so people could take their own pics and take a copy of it away with them.”

Hannah wore a stunning Terry Fox gown with a Magpie Vintage necklace made from genuine vintage pieces.

Magpie Vintage Launch The Rose Collection…and I Get on a Horse & Jump on a Trampoline to Celebrate!

I sneak peeked this shoot back in February but I had to wait until now to share the full thing…sorry to keep you all waiting, it was hard for me too!

I was asked by Lisa & Tania, the vintage jewellery aficionados behind  Magpie Vintage if I’d like to model for their latest campaign – the launch of their brand new clothing line. Needless to say I didn’t need much convincing, even when they told me I had to get on a horse!

The Rose Collection will be officially launched in September 2011. Each each item will be a one off – a genuine piece of vintage clothing from the 1930’s-1960’s, reworked and quirked with the famous  Magpie Vintage twist.

Just like the jewellery that they’ve become so well known for, rhinestones, vintage buttons, original gems and vintage ribbons and trims will sit alongside original vintage pieces, perfectly complementing the original source.

Each collection with be limited edition, and due to the amount of work that goes into each hand-crafted item, only 20 pieces will be created per season.  Magpie Vintage‘s aim is to get these pieces on the red carpet, but I’ve been reliably informed that I’ll be able to wear some of these items at the various events I get invited too this year. BONUS!

Prices range from £200-£800 and consultations are available by appointment only.If you’re interested in purchasing any of these stunning pieces then be sure to get in touch with them right away.

Magpie Vintage & The Rose Collection Exclusive Sneak Peeks from this week’s Photo Shoot of AWESOME!

Photography Credit: David McNeil

I am mightily excited to share a few sneak peeks from this week’s photo shoot. I was asked by the lovely Lisa & Tania of Magpie Vintage if I’d like to come and be their ‘celebrity’ (ha!) model for their latest (and in my opinion greatest!) promotional photo shoot. The pair are expanding their business from vintage jewellery to fashion!

The Rose Collection launches in September 2011 and each piece is a lovingly created one off – reworked from genuine vintage articles – just like their jewellery that they’ve become so well known for. If you’re interested in purchasing any of these stunning pieces then be sure to get in touch with them!

I’ll be blogging the full shoot later next month, however there was such a buzz around the day (and the fact that I was asked to get on a horse!) that I simply HAD to share a few sneak peeks with you all asap. There are more outfits and locations to come too. I even got to channel my inner goth!

Charlotte was crazily beautiful and her candy floss hair was EPIC!

At the end of the shoot, David McNeil and I (we love each other) decided we should get Annamarie Stepney to take a few impromptu shots of us in classic ‘engagement shoot’ poses. I think we make quite a lovely couple don’t you? I’m pretty sure these shots won’t be making it into the final lookbook though. What a shame.

The Julia Boggio Studios Grand Opening

Last Thursday I was lucky enough to be invited to the fancy pants grand opening of the Julia Boggio Studios in Wimbledon, London. Not only was it the very studio that Julia and I did my vintage boudoir shoot but I was able to meet a load of new people from the UK wedding industry as well as catch up with some old friends.

I headed up to London with the lovely Lisa of Magpie Vintage. Before the party we paid a visit to our friends at Luella’s Boudoir in Wimbledon who kitted us out with sparkles and shoes (Lisa nabbed some gorgeous Emmy shoes and I borrowed a beeeautiful Magpie Vintage headband – and yes I wanted to keep it!)  We then all piled back in Lisa’s car and made our way to Merton Abbey Mills where Julia’s studio is located.

The studio was filled with people all talking excitedly about their plans and ideas for the coming wedding season, and as we sipped Bellini’s and ate canapes off a tray with my face on (yeah, Julia nice idea ha!) I couldn’t help but wish the party just went on that little bit longer.  Here are a few images and a super cool video of the event (can you spot my pink head and ‘rock n roll’ necklace?) Enjoy! And UK brides, remember – I now have a million and one contacts for like, everything you might want for your Rock n Roll wedding! Hit me up with an email if you need any recommendations.
