Megan and Brad wanted their wedding to be a blend of natural, industrial and vintage, with a nod to the wabi-sabi aesthetic; the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection. They were inspired mostly by modern industrial and moody botanical styles. They also knew they wanted to get married in New York City, where they met and have lived for some time.
“When we began researching venues we discovered the beautiful Greenpoint Loft only a few blocks from our apartment and knew that it was perfect for us,” said Megan. “We fell in love with the warm industrial aesthetic and the fact that we could totally create the wedding we’d envisioned in the open space. Plus, there was a perfect view of the NYC skyline from the windows and deck!”
Leah and Cale met on OKCupid. After both being engaged before, they were pretty certain very early on what they both did and did not want from a new relationship. After dating for only a year they knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.
Their Autumn wedding took place in Long Beach, California, at at event space called Howl. The industrial yet casual vibe of the venue helped set the theme of the day. “Our wedding was a little bit modern, a little bit 60s, and very Californian”, said Leah. “We tried to stay inspired by what the event was all about… us. Our style, our taste in music, our idea of fun.”
Brandi and Josh first met at a local coffee house after being set up by some of Brandi’s co-workers. Their coffee date lasted five hours getting and the rest is history! They decided to elope, and then, eight years later, had a vow renewal with family and friends present.
“When Josh and I first married almost eight years ago, we were so young and very in love. We didn’t have a lot of money or a clear vision for our ‘dream day’”, said Brandi. “Honestly, we just wanted to commit our lives to one another.”
“The theme for our vow renewal was industrial and we focused on one-of-a-kind pieces and décor. It reflected us and both our personalities in the best possible way. Our vow renewal celebration was even better than our wedding day because this time we have history, we have memories, and we have a deeper love than we could ever have imagined.”
