I Tried To Do Handstands For You…

If you would have told me six months ago that I’d be getting submissions saying ‘I shot this session with Rock n Roll Bride in mind’ I would have said you were totally nuts. In fact I still think you’re a bit nuts but I guess that’s beside the point.

Keira & Dan had a super cute session with Studio Nouveau. The vintage camera, the bright blue wall, the awesome trilby hat – yes I love it all.
You’ve gotta watch the slideshow as well because I just can’t get enough of this wonderful stuff.

Thanks to Lara & Kate of Studio Nouveau for not only thinking of me, but for being super duper adorable.

Can I Title A Post…Trout?!

Looks like Ella & Ben had a great time during their engagement session with Razvan of Razvan Photography. The session took place in a teeny tiny town called Kalkaska which is defined as a ‘trout town’ due to the huge trout festival that happens there every year – who knew?!

Thanks to Razvan for sharing these session with me and I look forward to seeing their DIY laden wedding after it happens in August.

Infectious Excitement

Michael and Juniper had such an adorable session right on East Bay. I am just loving the calming, contemplative, observation-style of these images. Whilst the whole colour and tone effect is super soothing and peaceful, the couple’s excitement is out in such abundance that it’s kinda infectious.

Thanks to the gorgeous Kelty for sharing the lurve!

Hat, Park, Dog!

I think this wedding is quite different to the style I usually favour, but I still love it! The hat reminds me of going to English weddings where all the ladies wear big adornments on their heads.

Photographer Courtney, described this day to me:
Megan and Norm were married on May 30, 2009 at Willow Park in Louisville, Ky. That had no attendants, except for their “ring dog” Misha.

Megan didn’t opt for traditional hand-held bouquet instead chose to
compliment her outfit with a huge, gorgeous hat.
The Bride and Groom opted to accent their wedding with fleur-de-lis, a symbol of Louisville. While the guests noshed away on vegetarian friendly fare, trashcans were adorned with signs informing everyone that all the serving ware was fully biodegradable.

The music before the ceremony and during the ceremony was provided by
local musician friends, and the guests danced during the reception to the
musical stylings of a ragtime band, Rascals of Ragtyme.

Vintage In Style

Oh OK then..another one from The Nichols!

Not only are the photographs ridiculously gorgeous, but the couple are just as ridiculously stylish. Lindsey’s green dress and veil combo are just a little hint of bridal with out being overly so, and Jarreux has definitely got that JT hat/smart suit combo down to a T!

…and that red bag, and that belt, and the vintage suitcase…too.much.style!

Photo Noir

Non-wedding, wedding inspiration can be just as inspiring as the bog standard stuff. For example, the ideas behind this fabulous ‘film noir’ style photo shoot by Emily Porter, could easily be transferred to an absolutely amazing engagement shoot, or even a wedding theme.
Keep the non-wedding submissions coming (no maternity shoots though please, I still can’t being myself to start posting baby-related stuff sorry hehe!)
