Layered Grey Tulle

Right my lovelies, prepare to be wowed. I discovered Amanda & Jeffery’s wedding when browsing Etsy for a tutu no less. I found seller Monique Martinez of Ouma Clothing who made Amanda’s GORGEOUS layered grey/blue, tulle dress and immediately knew I had to try and feature this wedding!

The Bridesmaids were treated to similar dresses (but each with their own individual twist) from Ultra Suite and Jeffery and his boys wore suits from Req Square in Queens Plaza Brisbane. I also can’t leave out talking about thise cute litle cars! They all belong to Amanda’s Dad and are vintage Austin A3o’s ( a classic British car.)

The Austrailian couple had their ceremony at the ultra modern Brisbane Powerhouse New Farm  and choose local buskers (who were only 16!) to perform the music. Their reception took place at River Room Southbank. Jeffery’s family come from Thailand, so in order to incorporate this into their big day, the couple infused their wedding with a beautiful Asian colour scheme. The wedding day was rounded off by a 80’s disco that went on late into the night.

Thanks so much to Amanda & Jeffery for taking the time to share their gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous day with us!

Love Me Do

This beautiful, almost peaceful New York wedding was send to me by the photographer Amanda of Love Me Do Photography.  The wedding took place in Central Park and the reception was held at a hip French Bistro in Midtown. What’s great about this wedding (quite apart from how stunning it is) is that the couple, Jen & Hooper pretty much DIY’ed the whole thing themselves. I think the only thing they didn’t make themselves was the cake and the dress!

The Bride, Jen is a fabulous blogger, painter and photographer herself, so she definitely started off of the right foot wedding planning wise! (Amanda even took some of Jen’s art as payment for photographing the wedding – how awesome is that!?)
Jen and Hooper designed the invitations/save the date (which you can see on Jen’s blog), the centerpieces and flowers (including the bouquets and those wicked masks), the guest book and the cute little Jen and Hooper paper dolls at each place setting.
Jen’s dress was a silk chiffon evening gown from Bergdorf, her bolero was by Kate Towers and her gloves were by Carolina Amato

Enjoy these..and I’m pretty sure I don’t even have to mention how much I adore Jen’s bird tattoos…<swoooon!>

Groom Style – Brent

I love receiving emails from you, especially if they’re to share you’re own excellent weddings.  What makes this wedding extra special is that it was sent to me by the Groom! Oh yes, boys read Rock ‘n Roll Bride too!

Now come on, how much style has Brent got!?  Loving the suit dude, you and your boys looks awesome – like an actual rock band!  These shots are so fun, I wish I was at this wedding!
Don’t worry, I’m not completely ignoring the Bride, Lauren in this post – the group shots are all so fun and silly looking!  One of the things that put us off having lots of posed shots on our wedding was we didn’t want the same boring photographs that everyone ends up with…however after seeing these I wish we’d done some like this – they’re hilarious!

There are just so many things I love from this set – the sunglasses, the moody sky, the dead tree, the wedding ducks…thank you so much for sending these my way Brent – you have made my day! You look like you had a total blast! You are both absolutely stunning and you and given me some serious wedding envy!

A Predictable Post?

So, you know about Bridal Soup now yeah?  Well the one of the guys behind it, Steve Gerrard is actually a fabulous photographer based in Birmingham, UK.  Being as I was to be a regular contributor to his new venture I figured I should check out his work as well, and boy am I glad I did..look at this amazin’ NY wedding.

When I emailed Steve to let him know I was going to feature one of his weddings he actually replied saying “Let me guess – the New York wedding!” am I that predicable!!?  Well for a well like this I am happy to be predictable!

I love flippin’ loads about this wedding – the dress, the glasses, the Groom Style (+ the long hair – I am all about men with long hair after Gareth grew his!) and the locations of the portraits to name but a few.
