Kaori & Alex’s Multi-Cultural, DIY-Fabulous, Vintage Bohemian Wedding

Do you remember Kaori & Alex’s killer engagement session? It was all tattoos, awesome outfits and L.O.V.E. I have been dying to see the outcome of their wedding ever since and I ain’t half excited to share it with you today.

The couple were married at Old Zoo in Griffith Park, Los Angeles with a reception to follow at Señor Fish in Little Tokyo Area, Downtown LA. Both of them are designers so obviously their outfits were nothing short of unique and utterly fabulous.

Kaori wore a J Crew dress which she teamed with shoes from Charles David and a gorgeous hair piece from Prim and Posies and a flower pin (on the dress) from Sweetpea & Fawn – both on Etsy.

Dinner Love and the Quest for Soup – A Video Game Proposal

I saw Steffany & Anders engagement photographs and amazing (like, seriously amazing) proposal video on their photographer Emily’s blog and instantly knew I had to feature them. These two are the actual cutest! Steffany told me the whole story…

“My story is something like, “OHMYGOD he proposed and it was SO CUTE!” And then I cried.
I still can’t believe he went to so much trouble. I always assumed that when/if he proposed it would be at a restaurant (which makes sense because we both LOVE to eat!) but instead he enlisted the help of five of his friends and made me the most amazing and thoughtful game ever. The game actually has a name – Dinner Love and the Quest for Soup! It’s named for my food blog, dinnerlove.com, and also for my love of SOUP! You can’t really tell in the video, but he put so many pieces of us in that game.”

“The maze is San Francisco, where we both live. The object of the game is for me to collect food and level up. The foods that I collect differ at each different level-there are cheeseburgers, cupcakes, margaritas and finally soup (all things that I enjoy immensely!) At the beginning of the game Anders is asleep in his bed in the middle of the maze, but after the first level I wake him up and he and I wander around the city maze and collect the foods together. As we progress, Anders professes his love for me and these little hearts start to follow us around. After the last level a ring pops up on screen. As I played through the game, it honestly didn’t occur to me that he was about to propose. I was a bit drunk and he designs video games for a living so I sort of just thought he’d just made me an awesome game!”

“When the ring screen popped up and I turned to see him on one knee I LOST IT. I started crying like a child. I couldn’t hear very much because I was just so overwhelmed but I do remember him asking me if I would continue to “level up with him”. Yes yes yes! He has more art from the game up here: http://stinkyanders.com/relatedwork.html

OMG their wedding is going to be adorableness personified. I can’t wait.

70’s Chic & Matchy Matchy Cuteness

I have so much love for Gretchen & Darby’s cute, retro, geek chic engagement sesh. Not only did the chalkboard/hearts location slay me, but their fashion choices are just so perfect…and they match each other in an oh-so-cute and not at all puke-worthy way. The super bright checked set, the crazy 70’s jumpers set and the lilac-y matching dress and tie set. Oh so adorable! I love love love them.

Geek Chic

I have been dying to feature a photo shoot by Flory Photo in ages, and I think Curtis & Vali’s shoot has given me the perfect opportunity. Photographer and friend Joel Flory actually shot their wedding back in 2002 – his first – and being such great friends with this pair, this shoot was extra special to them all.

Is anyone else as crazy about those geek-chic glasses as I am!? So. Much. Fun!  His suit was Express for Men and her dress was an 8yr old Jessica McClintock that she wore on their wedding day.

A Nerdy, Geeky & Darling Wedding

Dena & Patrick’s wedding is certainly Rock n Roll to the max! I adore her cute shoes that show off her gorgeous foot tattoos  (I’m so shallow) and that fabulous dress which was Madison by Priscilla of Boston “It had a belt and pockets!” Dana told me ” so I just HAD to have it! I even kept my iphone in my pocket and snapped photos with it during the day” The bridesmaids matched the yellow and grey theme by wearing various grey dresses from Alfred Angelo. The pair were married in the oldest catholic church in Philadelphia (Old St. Joseph’s) and had their reception at an old bank that was the Philadelphia Real World House which has now been turned into an art gallery called Trust House.

Dana & Patrick's wedding is certainly Rock n Roll to the max! The pair were married in the oldest catholic church in Philadelphia (Old St. Joseph's) and had their reception at an old bank that was the Philadelphia Real World House which has now been turned into an art gallery called Trust House. My favourite part of Dana's email to me was her 'wedding highlights' so I wanted to share them with you ♥ Taking my bridal portraits in the burial ground where Ben Franklin and several other founding fathers are buried. It is traditionally good luck for brides to throw a penny on Ben's grave for prosperity! ♥ Taking a taxi to the church which was 4 blocks from the hotel where i got ready and mom freaking out ♥ The art in the gallery. It was a total surprise because they had just hung a brand new show that week. ♥ There was an amazing portraits of a nude Kim Kardasian upstairs and a painted version of Lindsay Lohan's mug shot. Our family both young and old loved it and thought it was so us! ♥ Also being a bride who rocks glasses! ♥ Ending the night with a group singalong to queen!!

Enviable Vintage-Cool

A cute couple, both us glasses and fabulous fashion with that enviable vintage-cool vibe (the green dress was Amanda’s grandmother’s) rocking it with records and just generally hanging out…I just …yeah, you know I love it.

Amanda & David hopped around different locations throughout the East Side of Milwaukee for their engagement shoot. All of the places they visited had significance to their first date, the first stop being a record store. On their first date, David bought a record “for himself,” which a few months later he gave to Amanda as a gift. She holds it in one of the photos. They also stopped at Comet Cafe, which was where they had lunch together for the first time. They even brought their own favourite coffee cups for the shoot.
