Oooh la la! I have been a huge fan of Gala Darling ever since I discovered her blog about a year ago. I love her style, her positivity and the fact that she's not afraid to be herself and speak her mind. I love the way she writes and I'm inspired by her every.damn.day! Gala posted these très sexy boudoir-esque shots on her blog last week and I'm really excited to share them all with you too. I think these make great inspiration for all your brides-to-be wanting to do boudoir shoots - they show that great light and fabulous styling makes all the difference! So do it. Embrace your inner minx and go for it!

Hell Yeah Balloons are Punk Rock

Kat

February 2, 2010

Anthony & Shealyn were actually not engaged at the time the session took place. However, just a week after the shoot they realized that they just could not live without each other and got engaged! Photographer Sheri told me all about the day: Other than specifying that they'd like incorporate purple balloons (which Anthony brought to Shealyn on their first date) we were left to our own creative devices. I was inspired by their edgy style and chose backdrops that would make them pop. I like the contrast of their hard, black style against the softness of the beach and the lightheartedness of the balloons. We walked back to their apartment and they suggested hopping into the pool... mind you this was early January and cold even by San Diego standards. Thanks to Sheri for sharing these shoot with us...and I have to say I totally love Shealyn's dress which actually came from the Miley Cyrus/Max Azria for Wal-Mart! Rock n Roll indeedy. Goth Gal in the Snow

Kat

December 27, 2009

I trust you had a good Christmas? I trust you had a good Christmas and Santa was nice to you? Down my chimney fell a swanky new 18.5" wide screen monitor (droooool) a Fuji Instax, a PINK Vivienne Westwood bracelet and an 'eco cup'. These are my favouritest presents. Santa obviously knows me very well - that I am a total blogging and photography geek, that Vivienne Westwood makes me happy and that I drink way too much coffee! I am muchly looking forward to playing with all my new toys and will certainly be scanning in some of my Instax shots soon. Was Santa just as good to you?Anyway, it's nice to have you back, it's been lonely without you dear reader. Although I am going to keep blogging between now and new year, the posts maybe a bit sparcer than usual. I'll still be here, plugging along though, so please don't hesitate to still get in touch if you need too.. Well the winter submissions have poured in over the festive period so I'm going to get right back into it with this snowy graveyard shoot from Jeffery Chan Tin. Bridal shoots in graveyards always seem to provoke some kind of controversy (who knows!?) but how can anybody argue that these images aren't ridiculously stunning? I really do love the snow... If you want to see more of this gorgeous Goth gal then check out this disgustingly fabulous zombie shoot and seriously sexy fashion shoot - both also shot by the uber talented Jeffery Chan Tin. Thanks to Jeffery for sharing the fun and frolics with us

Cowboys & Indians

I'm pretty sure none of the adjectives flying around my head as I look at these images can do justice to this ridiculously, spectacularly, awesomely, fantastically, edgy and wicked shoot! Alma & David got married in New Orleans and had a cowboys & indians style wedding! The pair actually acted as models in a workshop for 25 photographers who want to learn new techniques and to photograph a couple as cool as they are. I'm sooo excited that photographer Belen sent her shots to me to feature - thanks so much chick! Credit: Gerber + Scarpelli Weddings

Glam-o-rama

Kat

November 14, 2009

Burle & Martin had a creole glamorama wedding at The Metro Hotel. Their vintage New Orleans theme was culminated with a plethora of fishnets, feathers, masks, beads and Fluevog shoes. One of my favourite details has got to be the cupcake bouquet by Cookies by Kin...hello - how awesome!!? Burle's dress was by Venus Bridal and her veil was found at Etsy. She chose to get ready at a fabulous Du Jour Boutique , an eclectic store where she regularly buys funky clothes, accessories and hats - and the zebra wallpaper definitely made for some amazing shots! Thanks to Libby for sharing this funky day with us
