Retro Rockabilly

I am absolutely crazy in love with Jessica & Dave’s retro rockabilly wedding! Not wanting to stick to tradition, Jessica & proposed to Dave over a jungle themed cake! She explained:

We had actually had no plans of ever getting married, but a few things changed and my views on the whole institution of marriage softened a bit.  I knew that I wanted to get married, but I had no idea how I was going to bring up the subject, so it just happened sort of spur of the moment.  One day we were watching Ace of Cakes, and they were making a jungle themed cake.  I studied lemurs in the rainforest of Madagascar, so I turned to Dave and said “Will you get a cake with two lemurs on top of it with me?”  and he said something to the effect of “What, wait, huh? Why? Are you asking me to marry you?”  and I said “yes!”

Steampunk Victorian Beach on a Budget

If you want to see some of the most beautiful floral details and centrepieces ever plus some pretty damn stunning beach portraits then you’ve certainly come to the right place!

Meghann & Edwin planned their Steampunk-Victorian-Beach-on a budget wedding with help from all their friends and family – DIY was the name of the game! I am totally in love with all their decor ideas and the beautiful floral details – this wedding proves that you can make anything look bloody amazing if you have the time and patience to do it yourself. They spent only about $200 on flowers and decor and went to The LA Flower Market the day before to get the blooms.  Meghann explained:

Wai-Ching Bride

Evan & Angela’s wedding was at the Inn at Laurel Point in Victoria, BC.  They had an intimate event with just 20 or 30 guests within their own bridal penthouse suite with an antique/bird theme. They set up a typewriter to be used a vintage style guest book, birdcages around the room and old-time candy for goodie-bag favours. They are both photographers as well so there were antique cameras scattered about as well as lots of shots taken with Evan’s old Polaroid Land Camera.   Angela’s veil was handmade by an artist in Portland, OR and her dress was designed by local Seattle designer Chrissy Wai-Ching. It’s a pretty damn amazing dress huh?

Fun At The Fair

Erika & Jamie’s funfair engagement session is too damn cute. The best thing about a shoot at the fair? That there are awesome props everywhere!

Thanks to Kate for sharing these.

Detail Perfect

Wow I have a lot (and I mean a hell of a lot!) of wedding awesomeness to share today. I almost don’t know where to start!

With a couple that are both artists (her an Etsy Seller Drink & Dream; him a musician) I wouldn’t expect anything less than a detail-perfect wedding. Photographer Kella described these personal touches to me:

there were canvas welcome bags with the i love nj logo, hand embroidered {by addie} handkerchiefs for her mom and grandfather, a personalized cake topper of the couple and their boston terrier bonnie, delicious shortbread cookies, really fun signage, vintage inspired pendants hanging around the ceremony, and my favorite a gallery style of photos on the wall at the reception featuring family weddings pics! the list goes on and on, but these were my faves! addie wore a glamorous + vintage inspired satin dress from Jenny Packham with, very cool round metallic shoes, lots of sparkly jewelry and sean wore a toffee and orange pinstriped suit with suspenders {loved, loved their overall vintage vibe!}

Thanks for sharing Kella!

Worth The Wait

Sometimes a wedding comes along that is so damn fabulous that it’s worth the wait for. I was sent an image of the bride trying on her stunning Elizabeth Dye dress by a reader, boy must have been about 5 months ago, and since then I have made it my mission to find more about the wedding, the dress, the girl, the guy and the stunning photography – it’s all a bit too delightful for words huh?I am so excited to finally announce that I have the results right here! You are going to be completely gaga over these – I know I am!

Ali & Danny were married on the 6th June at Bend, Oregon. The ruffles, the flowers, the cute cute shoes and the gorgeous and unique wedding invitations by French Lil Designs…I just love it all. Who’s with me?
