Enchanted Forest Wolf Themed Wedding

Ookami and Tyler had a big budget, $100,000, and they went ALL OUT on their enchanted forest theme, even so far as constructing their own enchanted forest inside their venue with the help of the incredible GreenSinner team. The bride grew up working with exotic animals and in conservation, one of which were wolves. Her first name means wolf and is an animal trainer with focus in wolf/wolf-dog/dog and general canine education… So the wolf inspired addition to their theme was just perfect for them.

The bride helped custom designed her own outfit with Arlette’s Custom Bridal for the dress, and Amy Bakenkoya for her one-of-a-kind mask. “Everything about our wedding was custom designed, unique and brought to life by all parties involved”, Ookami told us. “It really brought you into a different world.”

Disco meets Enchanted Forest Wedding in Manhattan

Jeremy and Jamie didn’t set out to have an alternative wedding, but it soon became clear to them when they started their planning journey that actually, they wanted to be able to customise pretty much everything. As they live and work in Brooklyn, it was important to the couple that they use local vendors and a local venue which they had an excuse to go back to afterwards. They settled on The Bell House, a multi-use event space which also hosts regular comedy shows and concerts that they love attending.

“A big part of the wedding was making sure our guests got to experience our favourite things,” Jamie began. “Jeremy was a Broadway musician before law school and we both love music so it was important to us to have live music throughout the day that really rocked. Aesthetics-wise, we’re both really into  super-saturated jewel tones so we figured we should just lean into the moody colour palette. Above all else, we wanted a day that felt super loving, accepting and positive for everyone involved.”

An Enchanted, Luxe Wedding in a Rainforest inspired by A Cinderella Story

Believe it or not, the 2004 rom-com A Cinderella Story was the starting point for the inspiration behind Gary and Amy’s August 2018 wedding day. “I’ve always loved the scene where he takes her for a dance in a gorgeous rotunda,” said Amy. “It’s filled with fairy lights and white roses and looks so magical, so that was the starting point for the vision for our day!”

Combined with Amy’s minimalist yet luxurious style, no expense was spared in making sure everything was perfect for their day. “I wanted luxury,” said Amy, “and Gary was more than happy for me to take lead with style. I wanted a day that looked modern, sleek and luxe. We spared no expense when it came to florals, personal touches and keeping everything stylish. I think the attention to detail really made the wedding what it was.”

The dress in question was a beautiful black tulle and floral embroidered overlay gown. Hollie paired it with a jewelled headpiece, laser cut shoes and a custom printed jacket by Princess Crocodile Designs, who also made a mini version for the flower girl!

Enchanted Circus Themed Wedding with Alpacas!

Nicky and Anthony both love animals and wanted them to be a big feature in their wedding day, but without being too novelty or like a kids party. The settled on circus animals and styled everything with a grungy feel in mind to achieve an enchanted, overgrown aesthetic.

With Nicky’s background in model design and special effects, the couple knew that they wanted to design and make as many decorations as they could for their day. They designed all the illustrations, including the bottom layer of the cake, all the stationery and signage. Nicky sculpted and cast the 3D elephant and zebra pieces used throughout their decor. They made the welcome arch, the laser cut 3D animal wedding favours and circus tent boxes for name places. They even covered the venue in ivy and inflated tons of red balloons for their elephant centrepieces to hold.
