Dinosaur and Science Themed Secluded Scottish Humanist Elopement

Natalie and Richard combined their stunning Scottish elopement with the naming ceremony for their son (and only guest) Hector Herbert. On the breathtaking and secluded beach at Crear, their dinosaur and science themed ceremony was intimate, personal and perfect!

“Our wedding was entirely about our family, the three of us. No one else was invited or knew about it, including our families, which made it feel really special!” Natalie and Richard explain, having driven 340 miles from Yorkshire to get to the beautiful beach at Crear. “The beach was totally secluded – no-one else in sight. We had our celebrant, Karen Dickson, a bagpiper and our photographers, and that was it!”

Faux Flower Bridal Bouquets from Crown & Glory (+ Win a Set for You and Your Bridesmaids!)

My best babe Sophie sure is clever. Crown & Glory have been synonymous with flower crowns for as long as I can remember (and they’re the only flower crowns worthy of wearing IMHO) but for spring/summer 2018 they’re offering a brand new floral bevvy to get excited about – faux floral bouquets!

And the tagline, bouquets you won’t want to toss, could not be more perfect!

I am a massive fan of real flowers. Fancy florist arrangements, cheap half dead stems from the Morrisons sale bin, and my house is full to the rafters with indoor plants. But when it comes to your bridal bouquet, the idea of a faux flower posy is quite frankly genius. Not only will it not wilt and fade throughout the celebrations, but it will be something you can keep forever as a memento of the day.

Sophie, who dreamt up the idea when considering the flowers for her own wedding, agrees, “I absolutely love the work that florists do, but just couldn’t justify the expense for something that would last a few hours and then be thrown away. In the end I purchased fresh flowers from a wholesaler and we arranged them ourselves the night before the wedding. But honestly it was still quite expensive, stressful to do it ourselves and I felt guilty about the waste afterwards. Then I thought how brilliant it would have been if we had faux flower bouquets, that looked just as good as the real thing, but could have been assembled in advance.”

There are a variety of different colourful designs, including year-round peonies (no longer will only July brides be able to carry this popular stem!), adorable ranunculus, sumptuous roses and their signature style – the Meadow Bouquet, which is designed to look as if you’ve collected your flowers from a field (without all the fuss!)

This Fairytale Wedding Gives Us All the Disney Feels

This fairytale wedding has to have some of the sweetest Disney inspired touches we’ve ever seen. From the centrepieces (each table was named after a movie and the props on the tables matched), the Disney inspired wall hanging favours and the subtle Disney inspired cake (those colours are just perfect!) complete with a with a glitter ‘to infinity and beyond’ topper.

“Our wedding theme was Disney all over”, began Laura who married Dean in June. “Everybody knows my favourite thing is Disney and I wanted to have a wedding that was attached to me and showed my personality come through.”

“The centrepieces were all Disney themed each to a different Disney film.  My mum and I collected everything over the 19 months we were engaged. We searched charity shops and eBay. The guest book table had an UP! theme and I bought an MDF model UP! house that I painted and built together from America. Our memorial table (with photos of our loved ones that have passed) was Winnie the Pooh themed.”

Handmade Wedding with Pops of Colour… and Dinosaurs

Diane and Topher wanted a wedding where they could be completely and utterly themselves. That meant being true to their own tastes and styles, but also not feeling extra pressure to have a wedding that was ‘cool’ just for the sake of it.

“We’re not the most out there of couples but we definitely aren’t a normal one either”, Diane laughed. “We just wanted a beautiful wedding that included some quirky touches.”

“I couldn’t say it was the most unique wedding in the world – I took a lot of inspiration from different sources (including Rock n Roll Bride) but it was ‘us’ in every way. Every single detail was thought through and meant something.”

Secret Gardens & Starry Nights: The 2018 Collection from Rock n Roll Bride x Crown and Glory!

It’s here, it’s finally here! Today is the unveiling (see what I did there) of the 2018 Rock n Roll Bride x Crown and Glory collection!

Now I know I’m probably not supposed to have favourites, but this is – by far – the best collection we’ve ever created. Modest, me!? Seriously though, just you wait until you get a load of these beauties. These are veils like you’ve never seen before!

The collection is influenced by two of Sophie and my favourite things – plants and botanicals, and stars – hence the collection name: Secret Gardens & Starry Nights!

Just like all of our past collections, each piece has been designed to be customised, meaning you can alter the colours (and in some cases length) to suit your own, distinctive style. You can select your preferred colour of foil and glitter stars (from a choice of 38!) in the Space Odyssey veil, the ombre in the Ombre Dreams veils can be any colour you like and the sequin flowers in the Magic Garden range are available in lots of different colours too! You can even decide if you want more or less (or none at all) sequin bug embellishments on the Secret Garden veil.

Just before you scroll down to look at them all in detail, I made you a little video talking you though each piece.

But enough rambling from me, I know you’re here for one thing – to see the collection in full!

Starry Night

Made of super soft tulle with all-over embroidered star design on a tulle wrapped clear comb so it can be easily worn with hair up or hair down.
