Holga, Music & Diy A-Plenty

Oh how I love a holga-photographed wedding! I can’t help but applaud a couple who take the risk with such a camera…I tried my hand at holga photography a while back and promptly gave up!

Katie & Kevin had a perfectly personal diy wedding. Katie loves crafting and so made everything, and I mean everything, herself. One of my favourite bits had to be the hand-dyed coffee filters used as hanging paper ‘flowers’. She also made the felt bouquet and the groomsmen’s custom cuff links herself too!

A Graphic designer by day, she did all the graphics on her invitations, save the dates, bridesmaid guide and rehearsal dinner invitations herself. They also included a CD gift with all her escort cards for guests to find their tables. It was a mix of love songs that her and Kevin had DJRJ play at the wedding. She handmade the table settings including tin can candle holders and framed menus.

Old/New School Vintage Vogue

This scarlet-themed, soft, cool, old school/new school vintage session was sent over today by Jessika of December Photography. “I’ve been seeking clients who want something different ” she told me. “I love experimenting and new ideas to channel my creativity. This engagement session had an old school/new school vintage theme. Outfits were organized only by colors. My vision was ‘vogue meets nylon, and bring the chair’. I wanted some things to be out of place and clash, yet tie together beautifully in the end. While editing them, I kept with the vintage theme, de-saturated, vignettes, and warm/cool tones. The couple was very fun and up for anything, they made the pictures what they are!”

Perfect Picnic Wedding

Sarah & Kevin’s darling backyard wedding took place in a friend’s back garden in Arlington, Texas. The vintage-inspired theme with robin egg blue touches made for the perfect, personal picnic wedding. The day was styled by Revolution Garden and several of the wedding accessories (including the invitation, all hair accessories, the sign-in painting, and the decorated hat box) were hand-made by them as well. The whimsical bouquets made of all off-white and vanilla flowers and the boutonnieres were created by The T Shop. The bridesmaids wore dresses from Anthropologie and the bride’s dress was put together with thrift store shopping including Buffalo Exchange

Cowboys & Indians

I’m pretty sure none of the adjectives flying around my head as I look at these images can do justice to this ridiculously, spectacularly, awesomely, fantastically, edgy and wicked shoot!

Alma & David got married in New Orleans and had a cowboys & indians style wedding! The pair actually acted as models in a workshop for 25 photographers who want to learn new techniques and to photograph a couple as cool as they are.
