High-Fashion Anti-Wedding with Rock n Roll Spirit

George and Antoinette met when they both moved to Milan to study fashion, meeting through a mutual friend that also attended the school. “We have actually been together for 12 years,” said Antoinette, “but because we both have a very rebellious spirit we didn’t want to give in to all the social and family pressure to actually get married, it wasn’t a priority for either of us. When we finally decided to do it, we wanted it to be more of a celebration of the past 12 years and as well as starting a new future together.”

They spent just €6000 on the day, opting to choose a couple of luxuries and cutting out the rest. “You really don’t need a cigar bar or personalised wax seals on your invites!” advises Antoinette. “We kept our budget low by negotiating lower prices on everything and not having things like paper invites, we also opted for a lunch with no formal entertainment afterwards. We actually hate long weddings so we wanted ours to be short and sweet.”

Vibrant & Colourful Hull City Wedding Shoot

As city backdrops go, I have to say Hull is killing it. The colours and street art painted on its walls along Humber Street here wake you up and shake you up, and there is a Killers lyric graffitied in hot pink – I am in love. It’s perfect for urbanites wanting something edgy and contemporary for their wedding or engagement photos. Colour, culture, and plenty of buzz – it has it all.

The shoot is also ticking a lot of wedding style boxes by having a customised denim jacket, a pinky blush veil and dress with the biggest, cutest bow on the back, all complementing the pink trousers and on-trend claret velvet jacket combo that makes up the second outfit. Rather than being lost in the noise and colour of the full-on backdrops, these softer colours and shades really shine alongside it all. The message? Colour is your friend and you should never be afraid to use as much of it as you want on your big day.

Eclectic Wes Anderson Pop Punk Wedding Planned in Three Months

There’s a bit of everything in this Sheffield city wedding: Elegant dresses, gritty graffiti couple shots, dapper gents and pretty, giant pastel-coloured pom poms thrown like confetti! It’s one of those perfect examples of when a couple has a wedding that represents the spirit of them.

Lou and Neil met just six months before they married, on Tinder! “Neil tells everyone we met through work… which is kind of half true”, laughed the bride. “We worked on the same road as each other for a couple of years, then eventually, we swiped right and that was that! We chatted for a while, had a first date on a Tuesday, second date on the Thursday and then didn’t have another night apart from each other until the night before our wedding just over 6 months later. It’s now just over a year since our first date, we’re married and we opened our first business together in May. It’s been a crazy whirlwind but I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

The wedding was in February at The Cutlers Hall in Sheffield. The bride said, “It was probably the fifth or sixth venue we had seen, and when we walked in I felt like I was walking straight into Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums. We immediately knew it was the one for us. I always wanted to be a Tenenbaum.”

Lou said of the styling that, “It was a very pop punk wedding. We came down the aisle as Mr and Mrs Tomlinson to Blink 182! All of our tables were our favourite bands’ names instead of numbers. Trying to explain to my 93-year-old grandad why he’s sitting at ‘Alkaline Trio’ was tricky.”
