True Blood

I think you’re gonna absolutely love these! Hayley’s trash the dress/bridal shoot had two ideas behind it – a goth bride and the movie Carrie! Scary and wonderful aren’t they?

I can’t actually decide which idea I prefer as both of them certainly have a ‘True Blood’ feel to them and I am obsessed with that show! I suddenly have a very strong inclination to go watch a very scary film…maybe about sexy vampires.

Old Hollywood, Mexican Punk Rock!

Summer & Christopher’s wedding took place in July in a cemetery/mausoleum where the bride’s mother works at their beautiful 1920’s era chapel – certainly made for some awesome shots huh!? Summer told me:
It didn’t bother us that the chapel had a mausoleum inside of it.  It’s not that we were being purposely macabre, but we both have an understanding of the cycle of life, and felt that it would be beautiful, appropriate, and romantic, to have our wedding in a place which encompassed beauty and history.  It was also a nice tribute to my mom, who brought me up with the understanding that death is just another part of life”

Grand & Unusual

Happy Monday my lovelies. Being away from my computer for 2 days means I have a hell of a lot of stuff to now catch up on (good for you!) including announcing the finalists for the Love Me Do Photography contest – check back later today to check them out and vote for your favourites to win!

Starting off the week in style is this stunning red haired bride. The shoot took place in a funeral home of all places (her father works there) but the setting certainly made for a rather grand and unusual backdrop. Yummy indeed.

Soft Hues

Don’t judge me ok? I should be in bed (for those of your following me on Twitter you will have no doubt seen the regular updates about my flu!) but I have a compulsion to blog that can not be stopped…

Lisa Rigby shot this outdoor wedding last week and I can’t get enough of the lovely pastel shades. I’m not normally one for subtlety (hello? my hair is pink) but the soft hues of her blue Stephanie James Couture dress coupled with her stunning bouquet and birdcage veil are undeniably gorgeous. The wedding ceremony actually took place at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
