Relaxed, Festival Vibes with Rustic Touches & Movie References

Hold onto your handbags because my goodness do we have an utter beaut of a wedding for you today! Jody and Shane were married last summer and it was GLORIOUS. They met at an alternative bar in Camden, “Not the most romantic setting. I was climbing a pole into the ceiling tiles, he came over interested in what this multicoloured haired ape was doing!” the bride laughed. “We danced on some tables, kissed and exchanged numbers – Love at first sight you could say!”

They wanted a relaxed, festival vibe for their wedding so choose Westmead Events, an outdoor venue in Surrey as the location. “We both wanted a day in which people could just drink, dance and be merry!” Jody continued. “Which was off to a great start when cocktails were being poured before I made it down the aisle! We were both set on an outdoor venue where people could enjoy the meadow and views.”

Crafty, Rainbow & Fun-Filled Festival Wedding

Oh Tanya and Alex with your summery festival wedding of dreams! This crafty, rainbow, fun-filled day harmonised the splashing out on some big ticket items element with a lot of DIY between themselves and family to absolute perfection. Just count the beaming faces!

Their venue was the field behind the Horse and Jockey pub in Walsall Wood, where Tanya and Alex had a day that truly reflected them. “Our inspiration for our wedding was literally us”, began the bride. We wanted to surround ourselves with things we love, and so we did. I wouldn’t say we had a particular theme, but if I were to put a name to it I would call it an unconventional hippy festival, or something like that! What makes our wedding unique is that we practically did everything ourselves. Every element of our wedding had a story behind it, from the logo I designed and had printed onto the lunch bags, to the hand-knitted blankets made by the mother of the groom and the poem we wrote ourselves all about us that was read during the ceremony.”

“I don’t think it’s particularly out of the norm to get married in a field, but a lot of our guests were shocked by this and had never been to a wedding like it at all! I didn’t think that having a wedding in a field would feel much different to a regular wedding, but it really did! It’s hard to explain the feeling of the day, but it was so very chilled out and relaxed and not how I thought it would be at all, but also much better than I could have imagined! People were still buzzing weeks after the wedding and it was the hot topic of the month! All anyone has said to us is ‘IT WAS AMAZING!'”

Relaxed Boho Woodland Wedding With a Rock n Roll Twist

Megan and Ben’s autumnal wedding took place at stunning Puzzlewood in the Forest of Dean, where Star Wars: The Force Awakens, was filmed! It’s also rumoured to have inspired J. R. R. Tolkien. Huge cool points from the get-go! Getting the legal bit sorted in the register office the week before freed the couple up to take full advantage of this amazing location, and also to have long time friend of theirs, James, officiate.

The bride described the wedding theme as, “Relaxed, boho, happy vibes with a rock twist,” and when asked what the inspiration was said, “Honestly, I’m not entirely sure… I wanted to still have traditional elements with our own twist on them, for example I love how heavily tattooed brides in white challenge the classic virginal expectations.”

“Our venue was completely and utterly magical, if I do say so myself”, she continued. “It’s also not a place that usually offers weddings, and so I knew that what we would create on the day would be completely unique. We stayed as true to ourselves as we could, down to the music, food, and decorations, but our guests loved it because they love us! The fact we had one of our close friends ‘marry’ us made it incredibly personal.”
