The Grass Is Always Greener

I am all about the love for this green wedding. The flowers, the cake, the Bridesmaid dresses and the umbrella (are umbrellas thethe new balloons!?) are just awesome and so so cute. I am particularly loving how the colour pops up in a load of different shades, don’t be afraid to mix and match your colour tones, this wedding proves it looks absolutely fabulous.

Americana

If you plan to get married on the 4th July, then what other theme could you possibly choose? Christine & Cole went for a glorious red, white and blue colour scheme with vintage, retro touches. The whole day has been perfectly captured by the wonderfully vibrant photography of Michelle Warren and the gorgeously vintage super 8 film of Lola Film + Video.
If I was American I’d be feeling all partrotic right about now…

Thanks to Michelle for sending me both! wonderful…

Roaring 20’s

This could be quite possibly my favourite kind of vintage themed wedding because it is so clearly defined. You look at these images and you instantly know it is a 1920’s affair – from the car, to the hair dos, the feathers, to the amazing flapper style Bridesmaid’s outfits.  The idea of a ‘vintage wedding’ had been thrown around so much in recent years that the idea has kind of got diluted. It seems that any wedding can now be deemed as ‘vintage’ as long as the Bride is wearing pearls!  In fact many of my photographer friends joke (no names mentioned!) ‘ooh I just got booked for another vintage themed wedding.’

However this wedding is nothing like all the rest – it is quite clearly a truly vintage themed wedding…I just love it!

An Especially Special Day

Lisa of Ophelia Photography not only captured this wedding as beautifully as she always does, but as the couple were  some of her best friends she was also a Bridesmaid – multi tasking or what?

The boots, the flowers, the Bridesmaid dresses, the skate park, the rockstar photo shoot…I love it all!

Lisa described the day on her blog:
The say good things come to those who wait, and these two waited 11 years for their wedding day.   It was perfect in every-way and I was honored to take part in the celebration as both the photographer and bridesmaid.   I believe it was my most challenging wedding to date, as I was swept up in the emotions of the day and having to relinquish control of only shooting about 50 % of the photos.   My beautiful and lovely dear friend of 24 years (we met in preschool at age 4) was drop dead gorgeous and anyone in her presence on that day felt the magic.   The magic being that after 11 years they were getting married and celebrating their love in front of close family and friends.

As Enya played we waiting by the bridge prepared to walk down the aisle to stand presently for Jen and Rich.   As I watched Jen coming down the aisle and Richard watching her…. I was done.   Oh the tears….their tears, the happiness, the moment, was like a dream.   Jen and Rich were radiating with happiness.   All of there parents were radiating with happiness….11 years of happiness.   It was awesome!

90’s Glam

My friend Bertie has just started a new blog and has shared this fabulous Vogue photo shoot. Don’t you just love it? It reminds me of a 90’s Vogue shoot…like something Gia, Cindy or Claudia would have modelled for. Beeautiful!
