Laid Back Boho Barn Wedding with Laser Pigeon Shoot

Reunited ten years after dating as teenagers, Ellis and Bekki’s paths crossed again at a nightclub, and as Bekki told us, “That was that!”. They married at The Barns at Lodge Farm in Epping, with a wedding that was totally in line with their laid back country lifestyle, but with a touch of glam. Defying wedding traditions, the couple did their day their way, with no first dance, no cake cutting, and elements that reflected their characters, with lots of music and a laser pigeon shoot.

Ellis and Bekki used the venue to influence their theme and colour palette. Neutral tones and natural fabrics accentuated the boho vibes, with a stunning macramé backdrop by The Knot Tribe as the centrepiece of the ceremony.

With a budget of £15,000, they borrowed props from their own and friends’ homes and used vintage bottles with sprays of gypsophila as well as candle sticks, vases and table linens. Pampas grass displays were made by Holly & Ivy Flowers, and a friend loaned some rugs to create an aisle. Bekki placed all the décor with help from a friend, to ensure the room was exactly how she has envisioned it. She told us, “It was an absolute mish mash of borrowed items and charity shop purchases. We pulled in loads of favours and saved thousands.”

Italian Boho Chic Elopement

Francesco and Gaia took inspiration for their April elopement from a working trip to Australia that they had taken together previously. “We used to live on a farm,” the bride told us, “very close to horses and sheep, surrounded by nature. Held at Masseria Spinazzo in Salerno, Italy, the couple chose to elope after COVID limitations put stop to their original plans. Their biggest expense was Gaia’s wedding dress as she wanted a ‘perfectly bucolic outfit’; she settled on a gown from Le Spose di Giulio Gaudiosi.

An Autumnal, Geometric Themed Italian Wedding with Two Ceremonies

Alice and Simone found a creative way around COVID restrictions for their October 2020 wedding day – they split the day into two! Guest numbers were limited to 30 just days before their wedding day, so after much deliberation they decided in the daytime they would have their civil ceremony with their families, and in the evening a symbolic ceremony with their friends!

“Not everybody gets to enjoy such an experience as two ceremonies,” Simone told us. “Both were beautiful and unforgettable without any effort, and that’s all because of the affection of our families and friends. Alice was often in a giant puddle of tears!”

Simple & Romantic Boho Wedding

Portugese lovers Mafalda and Carlos met through mutual friends at a beach party. “We joke that it was love at second sight,” Mafalda told us, “because on the first day I thought we had nothing in common!”

They began planning a completely different wedding, but when they found people’s opinions confusing matters for them, decided to strip things back and do things just as they wanted them. “The decor and style was really important for me. Carlos and I chose every single detail.”
