Colourful Industrial Wedding with Pop Punk Influence & Bespoke Beer

Meeting on Tinder, Tiffany and Joe’s first date was at a supermarket, followed by a home-cooked dinner made by Joe! They chose to hold their special day at Globe Dye Works in Philadelphia, the perfect fusion of industrial and creative.

Tiffany and Joe incorporated their love of pop punk and emo music into their wedding, with Tiffany walking down the aisle to an acoustic version of a When You Know, by pop punk band, Neck Deep, as well as hiring their city’s emo night DJ for their ceremony. They also had coasters made with lyrics to a favourite song, which they spread around the venue and used to accompany the pin favours. In another nod to pop punk, the couple brewed their own signature beers and named them after special pop punk songs.

Tiffany explained, “We brewed two beers, When you Know, a blueberry Pilsner named after the song I walked down the aisle to, and Love in Real Time, a peach Belgian Blonde named after the same song by The Maine and made with peaches we’d picked ourselves.”

Colourful “Piss Up in a Brewery” Wedding

It’s no secret that we LOVE a colourful wedding here at Rock n Roll Bride, so Jess and Rob’s day, which took place in July 2019, was right up our street. They were married in Lancashire at Holmes Mill, Clitheroe, an old textile mill and has the longest bar in Britain! As the bride studied fashion at university and the groom loves beer, it seemed like the perfect spot. “We literally had a piss up in a brewery!” Jess laughed.

Jess bought her dress from Dreamcatcher Bridal, but she didn’t like the traditional shape. She opted to cut the long train off (“the lady in the shop was horrified!”) to make it her own. She then had the giant bow added as well as some lace from her grandma’s handkerchief which she had on her own wedding day.

A Bat Out of Hell Piss Up in a Brewery!

Kat and Chris have a little secret – they actually instantly disliked each other when they first met at work! That soon changed though as they co-managed a team together, they soon became the best of friends and the rest, as they say, is history.

While they were careful not to have a strict theme for their big day, they knew that they wanted it to reflect both their personalities – and their budget! Although they’re known best for black wardrobes, another plot twist – they knew they wanted their wedding to be a mish-mash of colours, prints and sparkles. As well as drawing inspiration from their love of music, with CD-sleeve style wedding invitations with a bespoke-Ramones style logo, they also wanted to include their beloved cat, who featured on the invites, and who’s portrait was pride of place at the top of the aisle. Throw in rocking a whole lot of polka-dots, some Star Wars and Frankenstein prints and their working-brewery location, these beer-lovers achieved a day that they could look back on and pinpoint exactly where they let their personalities shine through.

Rustic, Beer Themed Wedding with a Temperley Wedding Dress

Charlie and Duncan were lucky enough to score a gem of a venue for their wedding – Outfields Farm in Bedfordshire. Usually used for holiday accommodation, they had their reception in the barn usually used as a bunk room, and the whole bridal party were able to take over the holiday cottages adjacent for the whole weekend. Many of their other guests camped on site too. As it wasn’t an advertised wedding venue, happening to belong to Charlie’s bridesman’s parents, they’re convinced they managed to achieve what they wanted from their big day for a third of the price of hosting it in a manor house or country club!

Being able to stay over the nights before and after the wedding meant that there was a real party atmosphere for the whole weekend, not just the day itself, which is just what Charlie and Duncan wanted when they began their planning. The couple took their inspiration from the rustic charm of the venue itself and their love of relaxed days spent in pub gardens with friends, family and dogs. They wanted it to be as personal as possible, and the input of so many friends and family ensured the day was completely tailored to their tastes and passions by those who knew the couple best.
