A Vintage, Rustic and Uber Chic Yorkshire Wedding

One of the greatest things about my job as a blogging maestro is all the wonderful people I get to meet…and it’s even better when we get to meet in real life! The delightful Emma Case is down in London for a few weeks and so emailed me and suggested we meet up go out for Sushi. Now, those that know me will be well aware that I’m not one to say no to Sushi! We met up last Tuesday and immediately hit it off, talking non-stop about wedding planning, photography, blogging, husbands, proposals, flowers, music…you know the drill! I was particularly excited to hear about some fabulous weddings she’s shot over the past few weeks and lucky for you I got first dibs on sharing them all with you (score!)

First up is Helene & Simon’s fabulously chic and rustic Yorkshire wedding and Helene looks ridiculously gorgeous in her vintage style dress made for her by Dresses at No. 9?

This Wedding Rocks

Emily looked ridiculously stylish in her Ian Stuart dress…actually called ‘Rock n Roll’ no less (!) and her custom made shrug to match by Holly Stalder. I am also loving the faux fur coat she rocked when walking to the ceremony from Per Una at Marks & Spencer.

To make their wedding truly their own, the couple bought local ale and champagne for their reception, had a friend do all their flowers and each guest was asked to choose their favourite song to have it played at the reception. Emily also asked her Mum to read a poem she wrote at the ceremony

As in a perfectly beautiful painting, where colours and tones mover together;
And make us pause for breath, because such co-existence is a display of the perfect and simple possibilities of this world.
So, in marriage, when you do not need to hold his hand, or feel her breath on your cheek
But know that love is ever present, that undeniable depth of love and care that cannot be explained or measured.

That dear Emily and John is our wish for you.

Continuing their perfect Rock n Roll day, acoustic versions of Metallica songs played as the guests entered their reception at The Great Barn.

Funky, Farm Wedding

Neil & Hayley wed at The Rare Breeds animal farm, in Ashford Kent on the probally wettest day of the year! All was not lost however as not only to Hayley get to rock her bridal look with some wellies, but the laid back couple just took it in their stride.

Cuteness Indeed

I seem to be getting sent a lot of cuuute engagement sessions recently and this submission from Ashley & Stephanie of the gorgeously named White Rabbit Studios is no different. Amy & Randall had this fun and offbeat session in North Alabama with their friends and photographers (having photographer friends really is the best!) and I think they turned out great. I love how they did a dress up session as a bride and groom – cuteness indeed!

An Old Fashioned Love Affair

Anna & Ryan’s wedding was marvelously simple, rustic, old-fashioned romantic affair. Think prairie flowers, wheat, fabric streamers, ball jars and parasols. The round barn that was host to the event belongs to Anna’s family.

Anna’s dress was made by her Mum and was closely based on a design by an independent Italian designer named Mirit Weinstock who sends her clothes out to girls around the world to wear in self portraits to promote her clothing (check out the ‘birthday’ video on her homepage – it’s fab). Her hairpiece was by the always fabulous Which Goose.

An Old Fashioned Love Affair

👰

Anna & Ryan's wedding was marvelously simple, rustic, old-fashioned romantic affair. Think prairie flowers, wheat, fabric streamers, ball jars and parasols. The round barn that was host to the event belongs to Anna's family. Anna's dress was made by her Mum and was closely based on a design by an independent Italian designer named Mirit Weinstock who sends her clothes out to girls around the world to wear in self portraits to promote her clothing (check out the 'birthday' video on her homepage - it's fab). Her hairpiece was by the always fabulous Which Goose. After the ceremony (in which both Anna & Ryan only had one attendant each) there was a picnic lunch and after the picnic, everyone went to the couple's studio (they are also both photographers) to mingle. The reception was in a place called the Forum... an old theatre converted into a bar/event hall which was right across the street from their apartment/studio. Photographer Mysi described the reception vibe as being very much like a movie: amazing people... loud, happy and not a bit of drama. there was a moment during the last song of the night where about 30 of us danced while joined together in an enormous group hug (hard to breathe in there) and screamed the song ... when i realized i should be taking a photo of the spectacle, but i was too happy to watch from the outside. the best part of that was it wasn't forced or annoying or drunken or awkward. it was just joyous. Thanks so much to Mysi for all her hard work on this feature - she has also given me a sneak peek of her own wedding (they just got back from their honeymoon themselves) and it is beyond adorable so I hope I will be able to share those too soon!
