Unless you've been living under a rock over the past few months (or you're not as obsessed with weddings as I!) you won't have failed to hear the rumours that Anthropologie are launching their own wedding line on Valentines Day called BHLDN. Words can't express how excited I am to see Rock n Roll Bride's rocking out these dresses. They are seriously stunning. If there's one thing that makes a wedding blogger's heart go a-flutter, it's lots of lovely details - gorgeous ideas that you, dear reader, can sneakily steal for your own weddings. So, when I was sent this utterly gorgeous rustic/Rock n Roll (who says the two can't merge!?) it took me all of about 30 seconds to say yes to featuring it. Moustache cookies (and shoes!), cute typography, mis-matched bunting, multi coloured florals a-plenty and a cake covered in different coloured bow ties (seriously dying over here.) Rissy & Mike's wedding was a real hippy and family affair. They involved everyone that was important to them in order to make it totally perfect. First off, Rissy carried their son, Casey down the aisle with her. "I was wearing Casey in a sakura bloom sling," Rissy explained. "Wearing him down the aisle and during the ceremony was very important to us because we wanted him to be with us as we all became an even closer family. We also practice attachment parenting which puts a lot of emphasis on the importance of baby wearing." With having a young baby, it was hard for the couple to go out and buy everything they could for the wedding, therefore about 99% of their wedding supplies were bought online. "Clothes and decorations pretty much everything else as far as decorations I bought at Anthropologie and World Market," Rissy continued. "I didn't want to hire a wedding planner as we didn't want to pay for one and I really wanted the event to be "us". I felt like I could do it best. The few things that were really important for us to have was an outside wedding on the water or in the woods and a dress that buttoned down the front so I could breast feed in my dress."Read more...

I'm so excited about featuring Janet & Jim's destination beach wedding. It took place at the beginning of June and was a truly personal, whimsical and joyous affair. "It started out as your basic sandcastle fairytale theme" Janet told me. "However, we have a 2-year-old son, Parker, who adores Pixar films, and one of our family favorites is" Up." There ain't no one that 'did it their own way' as much as Ted & Tamara. "Our budget 'tree of life' themed day was filled with love" they began their email to me last week. "With a limited budget, I set out to make our special for us with simple tree stumps found along the Mississippi River. Our bridal party wore simple summer-loving attire that are so 're-usable'. My J Crew dream dress was found on ebay for $80. Orchids sang, yellow petals danced, willow branches waved all around us. Pure bliss." The couple only spend $2000 on their perfect wedding day. "When I started dreaming up my wedding," Tamara continued "we were going to be starting a new life together. I always think of trees as representing life and when Ted found the perfect pieces of driftwood from the Mississippi River for us to use we knew that was what sort of wedding we wanted. Sarah & Kevin's darling backyard wedding took place in a friend's back garden in Arlington, Texas. The vintage-inspired theme with robin egg blue touches made for the perfect, personal picnic wedding. The day was styled by Revolution Garden and several of the wedding accessories (including the invitation, all hair accessories, the sign-in painting, and the decorated hat box) were hand-made by them as well. The whimsical bouquets made of all off-white and vanilla flowers and the boutonnieres were created by The T Shop. The bridesmaids wore dresses from Anthropologie and the bride's dress was put together with thrift store shopping including Buffalo Exchange.Read more...
