Grungy Las Vegas Dive Bar Wedding with the Bride in Black

Prepare thyself, because this may just be the ultimate Rock n Roll Bride wedding! A quickie Vegas ceremony, the bride rocking her baby pink quiff with a striking black wedding dress and a raucous after party that went on all night long! Oh yes, there is so much to love about this epic celebration (even if someone did break their leg in the process – oops!)

Claire and Joe were married in October. After their Little White Chapel ceremony they headed to The Peppermill for food and ReBar (a antique bar where everything is for sale!) for all the partying. After a few hours they then went and got tattoos done followed by karaoke at Dinos, the last neighbourhood bar in Vegas!

“Our wedding was a Las Vegas Rock n Roll grunge dive bar tour!” began the bride. “I have always wanted to get married in Vegas and to wear a black Vera Wang dress. The vibe of the wedding had the feeling of an elopement, yet we had 40 friends and family there. It wasn’t a very traditional wedding but very true to us. We had a party bus that transported everyone from place to place on the day – we even got a group photo at the Las Vegas sign.”

Mid-Century Inspired Rock n Roll Wedding with a DIY Kissing Booth

Georgia and Vince’s wedding was hosted in the most beautiful little chapel we’ve ever laid eyes on. It was brought to life by their love of the 50s and 60s and their lovely personal and romantic day.

“Vince and I share a love of all things mid-century,” Georgia explains, “including the music, the fashion, the hairstyles, and the cars. When we became engaged, we both knew exactly what we wanted for our wedding and took influence from our love of the 50s and 60s.”

Georgia looked stunning in a beautiful polka dot tulle rockabilly dress from Pixie Pocket and a retro style veil from Me and My Girl Vintage, which sat atop her perfectly curled hair and vintage-inspired make up. Also – JUST LOOK AT HER LOVE HEART NAILS! Fierce and we’re feeling it.

Vince wore all black from Ferrari Formal Wear, with a black polka dot pocket square. We also love that Georgia and Vince got ready together in the morning, before Georgia got changed for an intimate first look.

A Tattooed Dress for a Tattooed Bride!

Sally and Nick wanted their wedding to lean itself towards people dressing up and so they went for a vintage Rock n Roll theme with some unique tattoo twists. The bride even wore a tattooed wedding dress made for her by The Couture Company! They did a lot of DIY so everything had their stamp on it, had their reception at Sally’s dad’s venue, and had very few formalities except for the speeches and the dances.

“Our ceremony was a small and intimate do at Stanton Lakes, in Leicestershire”, began Sally. “We had both said that we didn’t want a big ceremony, or a religious do (despite Nick being a son of a preacher and my mother’s best efforts to book the biggest fairytale castle possible!) and we physically couldn’t fit everybody into the ceremony venue so we restricted that to immediate family and very close friends. The room overlooked the lake and was lit in pale blue to match our theme. We had a few drinks in the bar afterwards and then headed to the party at Victoria Farm which started at 3pm and carried on until midnight.”

“We’d decided we weren’t going to put champagne on the tables for the speeches as we both hate it!” she laughed. “Originally we were just going to give people vouchers for the bar to get what they wanted, but then our caterer pointed out that this would cause a rush on the bar and it wouldn’t be possible to get that many people served in a short space of time. So we decided to make our own cocktails, which we put out in jugs on the tables just before the speeches. The whole thing worked really well, although we *might* have made the alcoholic ones a bit stronger than intended!”

Panthers and Pastels Wedding in Hackney

Mel and Tim met when they camped next to each other at Glastonbury and when planning their wedding, their starting point was that they just wanted to have a fun party. They also wanted to avoid anything too formal and ‘wedding-y’. They chose Stour Space in Hackney as their venue as it was relaxed and a little rough around the edges, which they liked. Their wedding was held in the evening, in winter, which further added to the party vibes.

They took inspiration from the 1950s and focused on pastel colours, sequins, kitsch animals and retro typography. Mel explained, “As I had a vintage dress we decided to run with the 50s style. It contrasted well with the sparse, modern venue we’d chosen and stopped it looking too cutesy. We saved endless pictures of 50s fabrics and cocktail menus for inspiration and we were really lucky to have amazing designer friends to bring the theme to life. Gemma created our invitations and little enamel badges, which we gave out as favours. Nat designed all the décor and the dreamy perspex signage; the huge ‘Tim & Mel Say Hi!’ sign now greets people in our hallway!”

Rock n Roll Village Hall Wedding with Lots of DIY

Rock n Roll Village Hall Wedding with Lots of DIY (7)

Becca and Andy wedding theme was 1950s Rock’n Roll and Rockabilly. They were inspired by their love for anything retro, quirky and just a little bit different!

“The day before the wedding was a total disaster.” began Becca. “Problems with the hooks in the wall at the village hall meant that the marquee lining didn’t finish being put up until 9:30pm (although those guys worked like troopers!) so we didn’t start setting anything up until after that. We got home at gone midnight absolutely exhausted praying we hadn’t forgotten something! Luckily we didn’t have any disasters on the actual wedding day.”

“Our ceremony was at Lyme Regis Guildhall, right next to the sea. It was quite small and personal and only our family and close friends attended. Then we got to have some photos next to the sea, even if it was raining with high winds in the middle of August!”
