Classic 1940s Wedding Day Style

Sara-Anne & Michael’s 1940’s inspired wedding had some really great touches. They balanced the classic look with quirky details so to make their wedding a perfect mix of tradition and personality. The wedding took place at Saphire Estate, Sharon, Massachusetts in May and Sara-Anne wore a gorgeous Oleg Cassini dress which showcased her ink in a classy yet cool way.

Sara-Anne told me all about their wedding and the inspiration behind it. “I suppose it’s cliche to say “I hate the traditional” – it kind of started out that way, but then I found myself wanting to do something that was a blend of both classic 1940s and with a modern day edge. I’ve always loved the fashions of 1940s – the Varga look especially.”

Retro & Kitsch

Oh baby, you are going to love these! Heidi & Rick’s retro engagegement session just oozes 50’s and 60’s kitsch cool. Heidi wore a dress that she actually bought from GAP about 9 years ago and added the apron that she made herself. The show may also have been a little bit stolen by Ginger the cocker spaniel however!

Glamorous Art Deco

Jill & Andrew knew they wanted an Art Deco style wedding as soon as they got engaged. Jill in particular really looked the part in her Priscilla of Boston dress, gorgeous custom birdcage veil from Unveiled Bridal Designs, stunning necklace by Ranjana Khan and customised J Crew shoes.

Jill told me all about their day:
Andrew and I both love the Art Deco period of art, fashion and music. From the first moment he proposed with an estate amethyst rose gold ring from the 1940s (Louisiana), we knew our wedding would be vintage inspired. We love black and ivory and used these colors to create our classic wedding story. Peacock feathers, swing music, and birdcage veils for the belles of the bride all set the stage for our soiree. We fell in love with Savannah because of the ornate iron work, stunning mansions, Southern & European charm and historic standing. Savannah itself represents both of our roots, myself being from Georgia, and Andrew from England. The Mansion provided the perfect backdrop. Both being foodies, we chose tiers of artisan cheese to create our wedding cake from Murray’s in New York City.

Tattooed Lovelies Get Wed

Oh..just wow. As soon as I laid eyes on Cameron & Mike I knew I had to feature them on Rock n Roll Bride. Can you blame me?

Cameron looked just like a movie star and Mike looks so in love it can’t help but make me smile! Mike, a tattoo artist in Florida even proposed to Cameron by tattooing ‘Will You Marry Me?’ on his chest? Freakin’ awesome or what?! That’s some serious commitment – he must have been pretty sure she would say yes!
