This morning I posted in our private Facebook group checking in with everyone and asking if there was anything particularly worrying people right now. Overwhelmingly, the responses were that there was a general feeling of anxiety and apathy about having to postpone and re-plan their weddings. I figured if that’s going on in there, it’s probably going on out here too, so I did something I haven't for a very long time and sat down to write and publish a blog post in real time!

We LOVE Megan and Phil's unique and stylish wedding theme. A mixture of yellow, blush and nude tones with citrus fruits used as decor, they created a really beautiful, yet totally 'them' summer celebration (plus Phil is a chef so incorporating ingredients into their table settings felt very fitting!) Having the bridal party all in white really let the decor touches shine too - sometimes (sometttimesss!) less really is more!

Carpe Diem. Seize the day. It’s such a grand phrase, like you should be swanning about in white robes and an excellent beard, but in reality, when we’re flinging ourselves from work to school run to the gym (ha! Or not), ‘seizing the day’ seems to fade to ‘fumbling at the day with your jumper on inside out and your skirt tucked into your knickers’. Throw planning a wedding into the mix, and it’s a wonder that our brains can function at all. But seizing the day isn’t about seeing how much we can squeeze into 24 hours; it’s about doing something meaningful today that makes tomorrow a better place to be.

In the world of weddings, where love is celebrated, a dark shadow lurks behind the veil. Bisexual erasure is prevalent but so often overlooked. At first glance, the wedding industry is getting so much better at being inclusive and diverse. Magazines, blogs and social media accounts show many love stories and cater to many preferences. However, bisexuals seem to be one of the groups who are so often forgotten or even purposefully excluded.

It wouldn’t have been a spooky themed issue without a suitably gothic editorial. For our cover shoot in our Sept/Oct edition, we used two models so we could show both the light and dark side – and we think the interplay and contrast between black and white really works. And yes, you can definitely bring a gothic vibe to your wedding look while still wearing white!

After deciding to get married in 2018, Sara and Mark began to plan their wedding in the UK complete with a large guest list, a woodland setting and tipis, festoon lights and a whimsical, autumnal theme. Sadly, their venue went into liquidation so they had to cancel everything and start again. They were going to go to Vegas, but then THAT got cancelled due to COVID so they had to start planning all over again! This time, and after all the stress and two cancellations, they opted to do something entirely different.

Claire and Ralph own a small pub, so naturally they got married in a working brewery! With a budget of just £4,000, they pulled off both an intimate family wedding at the registry office, and then a few days later a bit party for everyone else. "We chose to get married around Halloween as it's my favourite time of year", Claire told us, "I also wanted to bring in my love for all things celestial."

You're going to adore this homage to the spirit of rock n' roll mixed with Valentine's Day motifs. Inspired by none other than the King of Rock n' Roll himself, Elvis Presley, this wedding shoot was all about creating a retro, loved up, nostalgic mood, set against the backdrop of love's most celebrated day. Velvet textures mixed with reds and pinks created this visual feast that was all about celebrating love!
