Halloween Themed Wedding with Sword Swallowers, Drag Acts and A Costume Contest Reception!

The inspiration behind Kris and Landon’s big day was the fact that Kris has never been to a Halloween party… no, really! “It’s the best holiday because your only obligation is to dress like an ass and then get candy for it. So we said screw it and threw a Halloween party,… but you know, just got married in the beginning.” Kris explained.

Costume party aside, the vibe they wanted was ‘dinner and a show’… with some good old fashioned freaky Halloween fun! They took their theme and ran with it. As entertainment, they had a sideshow act perform sword swallowing, walking on glass and a bed of nails act while their guests dined. Kris’ brother had recently started competing in drag competitions and agreed to do a number after dinner. It was followed by a costume contest, which their friends and family embraced wholeheartedly.

Clean, Chic & Botanical Inspired Viennese Wedding

Josi and Max wanted their wedding day to be different from every other wedding that they and their guests had attended. They took inspiration from all the things they love – fashion, art, Star Wars, Guns ‘n’ Roses, classic Viennese culture and good coffee – to create a day that was more of a big party than an elegant gathering. They just wanted it to feel very true to them.

With a €20,000 budget, they DIY’d the elements that they could, and called in the expertise of professionals and friends and family elsewhere. In lieu of flowers, the bride and her mother dressed the venue with palms, ferns and exotic leaves bought at the flower market in Vienna. “I wanted to create a 1920s feeling,” explained Josi, “so we created the arrangements ourselves a couple of days before the wedding.”

Alice in Wonderland Meets Festival Rave Wedding with Glitter, Sequins and Two Red Wedding Dresses!

Vicky and Peter’s big day was inspired by their joint love of parties, festivals and raves – and combined with Vicky’s love of circuses, Alice in Wonderland and randomness, it made for a unique and fun-filled day! “Our main impetus was that everyone have a good time, instead of just watching us have a good time like you see at lots of wedding. We wanted to throw a crazy party that everyone could enjoy!” said Vicky.

The couple were lucky enough to be able to call in a favour for the location of their big day and hold both the ceremony and reception in the gardens of the groom’s boss’ house, so it meant they were completely able to go to town with the way their day looked.

Whimsical Quaker Wedding with Rabbits and Botanical Touches

Jeanine and Nick viewed their September 2018 wedding as very much a celebration of the seven years they had already spent together, and for their lives going forward. “We wanted to have our friends and family with us as we declared our love and made promises for our future together.” said Jeanine.

Jeanine works as an artist, and It was super hard for her not to make absolutely everything for their day! She DIY’d wherever possible, but also knew to rely on the expertise of others on occasion. She had her dress custom-made by a corsetiere and dressmaker in their hometown of Philadelphia. The corset itself was made from cork!

Modern & Bohemian Jamaican Beach Elopement

Becca and Mark met on a random night out, and after connecting on Facebook a few days later, there hasn’t been a day since that they haven’t spoken to one another! Even when, shortly after meeting, Mark was stationed in Canada in the army, they still made it work – and Mark proposed on the day he returned to the UK.

Becca had always dreamed of being married on the beach, so despite being completely indecisive by her own admission, this was the one element of their day that was non-negotiable. They spoke to their families about them getting married abroad; unfortunately they were unable to make it, so the couple decided on a whim one day that they should just go ahead and book it anyway, and have a big party for all their friends and family on their return.

An Enchanted, Luxe Wedding in a Rainforest inspired by A Cinderella Story

Believe it or not, the 2004 rom-com A Cinderella Story was the starting point for the inspiration behind Gary and Amy’s August 2018 wedding day. “I’ve always loved the scene where he takes her for a dance in a gorgeous rotunda,” said Amy. “It’s filled with fairy lights and white roses and looks so magical, so that was the starting point for the vision for our day!”

Combined with Amy’s minimalist yet luxurious style, no expense was spared in making sure everything was perfect for their day. “I wanted luxury,” said Amy, “and Gary was more than happy for me to take lead with style. I wanted a day that looked modern, sleek and luxe. We spared no expense when it came to florals, personal touches and keeping everything stylish. I think the attention to detail really made the wedding what it was.”
