Andreea and Steve’s rustic luxe tipi wedding was a perfect blend of Romanian and English cultures with a Midsummer Night’s Dream feel. Read on to see the best, most ethereal bridal hair you’ve ever seen, and a parrot ringbearer. Yep, you read that right!
It’s easy to see the Midsummer Night’s Dream influence on this wedding. Andreea’s hair is incredible on it’s own – long and flowy and such a GORGE shade of red – but woven with flowers it’s basically the fairy princess hair of dreams. Andreea’s stunning wedding dress was from Natalia Vasiliev, the perfect middle ground between a fuller skirt and being able to actually move on your wedding day – just look at the movement in that skirt! She finished her look with a necklace and earrings that belonged to Steve’s late mother, and Jeffrey Campbell ‘Lolita’ shoes. Her bridesmaids also wore flowers in their hair to match their trailing bouquets, and cornflower blue dresses to tie in.
Their hand-fasting ceremony was held outside in front of a wooden frame covered with stunning blue and lilac flowers by The Luxe Design Co. After an emotional first look, Andreea’s dad walked her down the aisle in his full ceremonial outfit. They were also accompanied by by Andreea and Steve’s pet parrot, Jay, who came down the aisle on Andreea’s shoulder!
Em and Nick have turned the feel-good vibes up to 5000 today with their chic Melbourne warehouse wedding and its ‘mid-century Mexicana’ theme. I mean, a wedding with a neon “I like your face, loser” sign is going to be pretty bloody special, isn’t it?
Not only is their day incredible to look at, but Em and Nick totally bossed the wedding planning side of things too, and they’ve shared some cracking advice as well as their gorge love story.
“We decided right away that we didn’t want a sit down wedding or a formal venue, because it doesn’t reflect us a couple and what we love sharing together,” Em says. “We shared these decisions with Kate from Good Day Rentals, our Stylist, who then had us put together Pinterest boards of all things we loved that weren’t Wedding related. By the time we were done, the boards were flowing with pins of 90s nostalgia films, Parks and Rec quotes, neon lights, and a lot of things we didn’t see a correlation between. Kate did though because she put together our theme (Mid-Century Mexicana) and had us awestruck. It was the ultimate combination of us as individuals and as a couple.”
Brenna and Shawn’s submission was called “dead stuff, gold stuff, black stuff and motorcycles” and we think that just about covers their amazing Rock n Roll meets rustic glam wedding! Having met whilst their bands were touring, it was always going to be a pretty epic celebration…
“Our inspiration was everything we like,” Brenna says, “Gold glittery glam tones and jewel tones, black and bones.” It was also important to the couple that the day was super personal: “Our wedding was at my aunt and uncle’s farmland which has been in our family for generations, and was my grandparent’s favourite place. We spent our wedding night in a hunting cabin that my grandfather and great-grandfather built by hand, that each generation has lovingly updated. It’s a truly beautiful place.”
Brenna looked IIIIIIINSANE in an incredible strapless dress from Oleg Cassini with the most gorgeous metallic floral pattern, before changing into a sequinned fitted stunner for the evening (insert red dancing lady emoji here). Confession – I totally teared up at the photo of her and Shawn, dressed in a smart Men’s Wearhouse suit, doing their first look. Her bridesmaids all wore their own black dresses and sunglasses.
