If you love a retro wedding, prepare to fall in love. Sham and Alice’s DIY marvel has got to be one of the most adorable weddings I’ve seen in a long while! The day was held at Blundell’s School in Tiverton, Devon.

“Our wedding was late 50s, early 60s inspired with a sprinkling of sunflowers and flamingos!” exclaimed the bride. “We had giant pink flamingos flanking the entrance and a sunflower arch that we got married under. We had an array of wonderful music including All You Need is Love performed by Andy Watts complete with backing singers and brass section, and I sang a self penned song called Shammy Blue Eyes at the reception. My parents coincidentally also sing one they had written called Alice Blue Gown during the speeches. Elvis was also a surprise for all the guests and worth every penny!”

The couple and their friends and family homemade practically all the décor. “My parents made every one of the 300 napkins”. she continued. “I collected decanters and swans for every table we both designed the invitations and the pastry stamp for the top of all the pies. My aunt and I accessorised the bridesmaids dresses and my mum made the one for our little bridesmaid from fabric left over from one of the other dresses.”

The bride wore a Candy Anthony dress and veil with Irregular Choice shoes. Her accessories were all vintage. “Enjoy every part of the process”, the bride concluded. “The chances are most people won’t even notice if the day is not perfect. You certainly won’t as you’ll feel like your in the most beautiful film most of the time! There is nothing we’d do differently about our day.”

Yeah– Was the arch homemade? I’ve been looking for something similar or a how-to!

You should put your groom into Regency-Costume when you have the chance, he totally has the hair and face for that period, absolutely perfect (sorry, I am a historic costumer :-))
