Thursday Treats – 3rd March 2011 + Winner of the ‘Rock n Roll’ Ring Announced!

Credit: stOOpidgErL via f-yeah cute food. There’s no other reason for this photos than it makes me happieeeee! In fact it reminds me of the food in the food fight in Hook! YUM.

So it turns out that a Rock n Roll ring was just what you Rock n Roll Brides were in need of! With over 120 entries a random selection was really the only way to pick the winner and keep it fair. I’m delighted to announce that the winner is…

Congratulations Lou Liddy! I’ll be emailing you soon as to get your shipping info! If you weren’t lucky enough to win this fab ring but you’d still like to purchase some Memento Mori Jewellery, drop Simon an email to for a catalogue or call him on 07834 155289.

So…In need of more treats?

Thursday Treats – 24th February 2011 + Winner of The Knot Couture Dress Announced!

Photography Credit: Birke Photography via Wedding Chicks

I wanted to start this edition off by announced the winner of the stupendously popular competition to win a custom wedding dress from Knot Couture. Big love to everyone who entered – we had 79 comments which really did make it hard to decide who would win the dress. However after much deliberation both myself and the Knot Couture girls would like to award the grand prize to…

Natasha Tenney who said:

“Wow. You already have some great entries to win one of these gorgeous dresses. So why do I deserve to win? I live in a small southern town and so far, I’ve not been treated exactly welcome by any of the bridal shops here because like many of the women who adore Rock n’ Roll Bride, I am covered in tattoos. Even though tattoos seem to become more socially accepted all the time, it’s almost as if these snooty girls think that because I have art all over my body I don’t deserve an absolutely gorgeous and girly wedding dress. It’s very disheartening because even though on most days you will find me in t-shirts, jeans, and boots, I want my fella’s jaw to drop on that special day. He’s a wonderful man who’s raising my three little ones as his own, and he sees me everyday without the make-up and frills. I want our wedding (which is October 15 of this year) to be the one of those times when he sees me and has his breath just taken away. One of these eight gorgeous creations would definitely help do the trick! Then, I want to send a picture to each and every one of these bridal shops who treated me like I didn’t deserve a pretty dress, and let them know that their magazine dresses weren’t good enough for ME! Got my fingers crossed!!!”

It was the Pretty Woman-esque story that did it for me. I know the feeling Natasha and I really do hope you send them some photos aftewards…maybe giving them the finger?! Natasha, the Knot Couture girls will be in touch asap to get the ball moving on creating your beautiful dress!

Huge thanks to everyone that entered, and if you weren’t lucky enough to win, fret not because Knot Couture would like to offer 10% off the purchase of any of their dresses from their etsy store when you quote ROCKNROLLBRIDE10 at the checkout. Orders must be placed by March 9th 2011 to qualify.

Oooh what a lot of excitement! Let’s continue on with that and this week’s Thursday Treats shall we?

Thursday Treats – 17th February 2011

It’s been another mental but fabulous week in the life of Rock n Roll Bride. First off I’ve been organising like  mad thing for the Rock n Roll party in April. Applications for tickets are now closed and invites have been emailed to the lucky 200 today. I am so sorry for those of you that didn’t get a ticket but I had close to 500 applications (463 to be exact) and the venue only holds 200…next time I’m booking Wembley Stadium!

Please check your inboxes/junk folders/under your mattresses to see if you’ve got a ticket! I hope all the emails got through OK and I look forward to seeing you there.

I’ve also been frantically preparing myself for my first ever bridal show (well the first one where I’ve actually got a stand as opposed to just swanning around like I own the place!) This weekend I’m heading up to Birmingham for the most anticipated bridal show of the year – The Designer Vintage Bridal Show at Highbury Hall, which will be taking place on both Saturday and Sunday. To say I’m excited is a bit of an understatement! Tickets are still available online for just £8 (or £12 on the door).

I hope to see loads of you there. My stand will definitely be worth a visit as in lieu on anything to actually sell, I’m pretty much just transforming it into a pink sweet shop! Free sweeties for all….(bribery)

Until then, here are some more tasty treats for all to enjoy!

I also have a favour to ask you. The workshop I have been invited to speak at in Dublin, Love to Learn, may be moving to London or somewhere else in the UK. If so, would you be interested in coming to hear me whitter on and learn from the awesome Feather Love Photography and event stylists Bash, Please in September? Answers in the comments please! I am so excited about doing this workshop and I’d love to see some of you there.

And finally, applications for the golden (well pink…) tickets to attend the Rock n Roll Party in April close on Sunday. If you haven’t applied for a ticket yet please do! After that, I will be randomly drawing names out of a very large hat and emailing out invites and details to the lucky 200. Although the party is massively over subscribed (like, double the capacity of the venue!) please do sign up and if you are not lucky enough to get a ticket, fret not as I will certainly be organising more events like this in future!

Thursday Treats – 3rd February 2011 + A Farewell to bid tv (plus video of me on the telly!)

Credit: French Playboy via Audrey Kitching Oh lala. Reminds me a little of my Paris shoot!

As most of you will know, I left my full time job last week. It was an emotional weekend of saying goodbye for me but I’ve certainly hit the ground running with this full time blogging thing (two photo shoots in one week? Am I mad?!)

As Sunday was my last shift at the shopping channel, I decided I’d go on air to model the last piece of jewellery I’d ever sell (I was a producer you see.) Peter Simon, my presenter, who I’ve worked with for the last 2 and a half years, said a very emotional goodbye to me (can you see me holding back the tears?!) and the crew made a funny slate to put in the backscreen!

Anyway, I wanted to share the video with those of you that missed it or couldn’t get the joy that is bid tv on your own tele-boxes. Get the tissues ready!

Boohoo! Ok on with the fun stuff…

Have you signed up for the party of the year yet? It’s shaping up to not only be one of the most popular events I’ve ever been involved in (nearly 400 of you have already applied for tickets!) but also one of the most exciting. This week I’ve been chatting music, sweets, cupcakes and centrepieces with my army of helpers, and BOY is this gonna be one hell of a party!

In other news, don’t forget that if you’re not able to attend the party then I’m going to be at a number of other events over the coming months. I’d love to see loads of you there as always!

♥ Sunday 20th – Monday 21st March is Luella’s Boudoir Wedding Fair at the uber swanky One Marylebone in London, I’ll be there on Monday 21st. The Sunday event will be held from 12-30pm – 5.30pm and on the Monday it’s from 4pm – 9pm (perfect to pop down to after work!) Tickets cost just £12 or £18 for two and for every ticket sold a donation of £2.00 will be made to the Eve Appeal – to book, or call 020 8879 7744.
