Thursday Treats – 1st July 2010

I usually hate blog posts that start of with an apology but I’m going to have to do this myself today. I’m sorry that this week’s Thursday Treats is a bit slimmer on the ground than usual but I have had such a busy week this week! Not only did I have a full day out doing a photo shoot by the beach this week (sneak peek here) but today I’m off giving a talk at the Unveiled Photography Conference (holy EEEK!) today…plus of course keeping on top of email, tweeting like a mad thing and scheduling all this week’s posts in advance has left me kind of pooped.

So I’ve had to sacrifice today’s treats an ickle ickle bit because as I write this I really should be finishing my notes for my speech! I promise next week’s edition will be even bigger and better than before!

♥ Firstly, thanks to Kate Aspen for the lovely blog interview that went up today

Thursday Treats – 24th June 2010

Credit: Our Labor of Love - eeek I can’t wait to see this full wedding!

I hope you’ve all had a fabulous week. I’ve been getting really over-excited this week about my new blog branding. I’ve been working on it with an amazing graphic designer (all will be revealed in due course) and holy moly, it is going to be goooorrrgeous! However I’ve also been stressing a little bit. I’ve got rather a lot of projects on the go at the moment (which, don’t get me wrong is awesome!) but I’m really looking forward to mid-July when I can have a little break.

I need to remember that I’m doing stuff that I love!! I can easily be a big old stresshead at times. I think I’m the most scared about my first public speaking venture at the Unveiled event on July 1st in London. I have been invited to go and speak about alternative wedding photography and eeeek I am cacking it…I’m looking forward to meeting a bunch of photographers that I know read this blog so please be nice to me. I’ll try not to stumble over my words too much! haha.

Anyway, here’s what else I’ve been lovin’ this past 7 days…

Sweet DIY Backyard Wedding
Warm & Rich Anniversary Session
Vintage Tea Party Engagement
1980’s Retro High School Love
AutumnArt Textile Necklaces
♥ Customisable (!) eShakti dresses

Thursday Treats – 3rd June 2010

Credit: Marike Le Roux by Beau Grealy for Flair magazine May 2010

This week has all been about catching up, getting focused and mulling over new blog ideas. It’s exciting and I love it! However I always need my daily dose of pretty to keep me going and this is what I’ve been lusting over the past 7 days.

♥ First up, considering I feature people’s weddings and photo shoots for a living, I got surprisingly excited when UK blog Love my Dress asked if she could feature my wedding! Looking back, our wedding was perfect for us back then, but if we were to get married again I know we’d do it totally differently. I spend my days surrounded by the most unique and crazy-original wedding ideas so it’s impossible not to think about how we’d do things differently now! Can you believe my hair wasn’t even pink!? Our wedding was actually quite classic. We had a black and white theme and although we certainly added a few Rock n Roll and personal touches it definitely wasn’t the most ‘out-there’ wedding in the world…but hey, it was perfect for us at that stage of our lives. Our wedding was the perfect reflection of the 2008 Kat & Gareth and our lives now are what’s important – we are the perfect reflection of a 2010 Kat & Gareth! Anyway self-doubt over…I always think that If we hadn’t have got married 2 years ago in the way that we did then Rock n Roll Bride wouldn’t have been born – imagine that!? Go check out MY WEDDING over at Love My Dress! (but be sure to come back for the rest of today’s treats…)

♥ An urban farm wedding!
♥ A gorgeous centrepiece idea
Anemone and ranunculas and an amazing ruffled dress
