Whoa, that was a long title hey? And then I followed it with a huge typography-filled image. I probably broke a whole load of blogging rules there…ah well…
First up, behold, this little video preview of the talk I gave at The Mark Niemierko Academy for wedding planners at The Dorchester Hotel (!) this month. Now obviously I said more than just what’s in the video, but it had to be edited down to take out my swears …whoops…and I didn’t want to give the whole farm away for free (so to speak!) so if you’re a wedding planner be sure to consider booking on the next course to hear some more!
For those of you that missed out and would be interested in learning the tricks of the wedding planning trade from the best (Mark) and his team of guest speakers – the last course included talks from editor of Cosmo Bride Magazine Miranda Eason, cake maker extraordinaire Peggy Porschen, florist Rob Van Helden and celebrity make-up artist Maggie Hunt (and erm…me!) – then be sure to check out the next events, to be held on the 4th – 8th July and the 3rd – 7th October.
Each course is limited to 10 participants, allowing the students an intimate and exclusive learning experience. The course fee is priced at £1,950. To register for visit www.niemierkoacademy.com
What a way to start this week’s treats! Now on with the show…
Yesterday I was in Birmingham for my latest photo shoot. The theme was punk and oh my lord epic is not even the word! We did 6 different ‘looks’ (hence the 11 hour shoot time!) and this is just a teeny tiny tease of what I saw as I walked into the warehouse location yesterday morning. To say my jaw hit the floor would be the understatement of the century.
I will have a few proper preview shots from photographer Steve Gerrard for you tomorrow but for now, I hope this picture that I took on my phone will keep you satisfied and suitably intrigued…
So this week I went to the Mark Niemierko Academy to talk to the students all about wedding blogs. It was super fun and I can’t wait to share the video (eeek!) of the event with you all soon. I definitely think I’m getting more confident at public speaking and it’s actually something I’m starting to enjoy!
I’m also in the process of working on my branding a bit more. The look of the blog will stay the same but my media pack and all that ‘behind the scenes’ stuff needed updating to bring it all into line. I am SO EXCITED with how it’s looking. If you’re a wedding supplier interested in advertising on the blog, drop me an email and I’ll shoot you one over as soon as it’s ready. My ‘Approved Rockstar Vendor’ badge has also been updated. It looks hot right? If you’ve been featured on the blog, we’ve worked together or you sponsor the site and would like to get your mitts on one of these pretty little badges to adorn your own website/blog/forehead, please drop me an email and I’ll shoot the high res version right over.
I have yet more exciting news to share this week (seriously, I’m boring aren’t I?!) I’ve been asked to speak at a two-day workshop for photographers, called Love to Learn, taking place in London on September 6th & 7th. I will be speaking alongside Feather Love Photography and Bash, Please event planners!
I’ve also been excitedly researching my next big photo shoot project (well actually the next two…but I’m getting ahead of myself there maybe – so many ideas!) The shoot will be taking place in Birmingham this month and I can’t wait for you to see who I’ve got involved and what the theme is! This is going to be off the charts and I am SO excited. Literally squealing with every email I get about it. More about all that soon…
Magical right? I’m obsessed with these cinemagraphs from photographer Jamie Beck. Check them out on her blog, From Me to You!
Happy Thursday people! First off I have to give a huge shout out of love to everyone for your excitement and support over the Jasmine Star London workshop. I am thrilled at the response and so inspired by you all to get stuck into even more organising. This is going to ROCK!
Secondly, I have a bit more news. Mark Niemierko, wedding planner to the stars, has asked me to attend his first Mark Niemierko Academy, a training course for wedding planners being held in The Dorchester in May (more info here). I’ll be guest speaking about blogs, getting your work featured and doing things your own way! I’m honoured to have been asked and I’m looking forward to being able to share some of the knowledge and insider info that I’ve gained over the past 3 or so years.
Anyway, on with this post we call treats…nom nom nom…

So, the long Easter weekend is nearly upon us. I don’t know about you, but I’m certainly looking forward to turning my computer off (well trying to) and enjoying some April sun. Over the next 4 days, posts will be lighter but be rest assured, they’ll still be some daily eye candy to pop by and check out if your relatives start to drive you mad!
In other news, this week I was invited by WEDDING Magazine to attend their cover shoot. It was a really fabulous day and I was thrilled to be involved with such an exciting project. My behind the scenes report and photos will be on the blog next week!
Mmm tasty…I trust these treats will get you right in the mood for scoffing lots of Easter eggs this weekend?
